Mexican or Tex-Mex is good, seafood, Italian, American comfort food... I'm more concerned about the seating, actually, I need armless padded chairs or a padded booth. Which is even harder to get recommendations about, since nobody remembers what the seating is like unless you actually have to. That's mainly why I stick to chains-- I know I can park for free and not have to walk a long way, I know what food is safe to eat, and I know that the seating won't leave me in screaming pain for hours afterward. I just wish I could branch out once in a while and try not-chain ones.

	Alas, I don't know about the seating, but I have: Marcel's (foggy bottom) Old Glory (georgetown) Cafe Atlantico (near chinatown; also, any other restaurant owned by Jose Andres) Lauriol Plaza (near dupont circle; she recommended the margaritas especially) This is just off to the top of her head.
