Seattle's delicate tastebuds
Seattleite [info]killthief is disappointed in Seattle's lack of chain restaurants.

[info]seattle is disappointed in her lack of taste; her appalling lack of taste.

I know, right? They have all these Red Lobster advertisements on Vancouver television but none in town; the closest one is in Calgary or something. -_-

Same here in New England! We used to have them, then they all closed down (many became BBQ restaurants that then closed down).

Sometimes, you just want CHEDDAR BAY BISCUITS!!

I see ads for Sonic drive-ins all the time, but I'd have to go to Hayward at least to get to one (I live in San Francisco), more than 25 miles. I don't drive in the first place, and when I am going on a car trip, that is rarely the direction I go in. (And going the way I normally do? Well, there's one in Gilroy, but that's a little out of the way considering our usual route.)

There's one in Hayward? Hot damn, I thought I had to go to Tracy.

According to the website, there's one at 31187 Mission Blvd, Hayward. I don't actually know where that is (don't drive, don't leave SF much, have no reason to go to Hayward since the one person I knew there has since moved).

If I drive creatively, Hayward could be on the way to my parents' house... *ponders excitedly*

Oh, god. Sonic. Those bastard teases.

I too live in the Bay Area, and not close to Hayward. When those ads come on late at night it can be torture. Apparently their MO is to release ads in markets that are far away from the nearest location, even when they don't plan to built a closer one any time soon.

from Manhattan to the nearest Sonic. And that's assuming a crazy hypothetical world where there is no traffic and I own a car.

They advertize in Alaska, too, and there's no Red Lobster. Which I don't care about, because we do have Sea Galley, which is much, much better.

Of course, I'm one of those people that's still sad about Hogg Brothers closing...
