Maybe it's just me, but if I had family problems and I had authors breathing down my neck wanting statements and payments and such, I'd hire a bookkeeper. Actually, if I were running a small publishing house I'd already have one. Doesn't have to be full time, there are plenty of independent bookkeepers out there who can come in once every two weeks and keep my books. Sure, it's one more expense, but it has to be cheaper then getting sued. Also math? Not my forte! Someone else can do it. oh god, I'm taking Pre-Calc II in three weeks
