This is a really funny post and knitting wank is wonderful.
More pertinently, the phrase "hermetic knitter" has sort of blossomed in my mind from sudden character inspiration on to some sort of pastel-colored novel premise and it refuses to stop. And I think I just wanted to let someone know that if in fifteen years you see a headline reading "man killed while trying to bind Yog-Sothoth with crochet needles and papier mache" it may or may not be your fault.
But mostly, it's really funny to watch people make this much of a mess of trying to teach people to knit.
