FictionAlley tried to get a grant through Pepsi's Refresh Everything philanthropy program. It was, to put it mildly, massively overreaching and poorly planned, and they really didn't seem to understand why people reacted badly to a fan fiction site competing for the same grant money as homeless shelters and programs for kids with disabilities.
