You got here first (on the comment; I got to the planet in 1952). For me, the first defining quality of Growing Up Boomer was that most of the adult males I was around had either undiagnosed PTSD or inferiority complexes as big as the sky because they hadn't seen combat. The second defining quality was damned scratchy tulle petticoats which turned even wool or corduroy into breezy summer-weight garments inappropriate for waiting for the school bus any morning between Hallowe'en and May Day.
