The goal is to truly find the next great author, something not too many people are actually looking for.
Well, yeah, I guess in areas that are devastated by war or disaster, or places where people are struggling just to live at a subsistence level, there aren't many people concerned with looking for the next great author. But as far as editors and publishers, isn't that sort of why they're in business to begin with?
