There are several ways to go about having a past-life regression done. 1) If you live in a small town, your nearest local health-food store (definitely not Whole Foods, or something like that, though), likely has a bulletin board with all sorts of notices for people who do some sort of metaphysical work. Larger towns and cities will probably have a New Age or some sort of occult shop, where you can get references. However, if you walk into such a store and don't like the feel of it -- like does it make you feel antsy -- leave, and quickly. Sometimes liberal Unitarian Universalists or Religious Science churches, or liberal Synagogues may also provide leads to people who do such work. 2) Even if you do find someone who seems promising, ask for references and rates up front. Now, the practitioner may not want to give out their clients' names for you to contact, which is understandable, ask them what New Age type stores they'd recommend for you to go for more info. Ask how long the session would be. Most should be between 60 and 90 minutes; if they're asking for more than $150 (US -- and that would be in major cities), run. 3) If you don't want to go with someone directing the session, you can pick-up books on self-hypnosis and past-life regression, which will provide a decent enough base to start from. Stay away from any books by JZ Knight, Sylvia Browne and Linda Lovegood, and anyone who refers you to them. Back in the day, when there wasn't a self-publisher on every corner, I'd have said stay away from anything published by the mainstream presses. At this point, though, it can tend to be a crap shoot. Weiser's was a fairly decent occult press, and you can still find a diamond-in-the-rough from Llewellyn. Good luck. Post a comment in response: |
