I get what you're saying since I sometimes laugh as a nervous reaction to things. It's not that I think an appalling subject is funny, it's more "oh my God, did they really say that?!", you know? Or if, as in this case, when a comment comes out of nowhere and is really absurd, I'll laugh and wonder what they're talking about, before realising what they're talking about. Anyway, sorry to make it all about me, I just kind of get where you're coming from, that's all.
