I've had my account hacked twice. I just changed my passwords on everything, changed my GMail password to something even more random, got on with my life, and stopped giving even "joking" hints on my LJ. It wasn't GMail's fault, it was me being an idiot. Luckily, the hacker found me "boring".
Specifically, that it was an anime character translated into 1337. Either it was discovered via brute-force, or someone had a database of anime character names and was running through them until "4r4m4k1" got through.
