Because Judaism is wacky. No one has ever been able to explain to me adequately how "no leavened bread" gets expanded to "no grains at all, unless they've been made into matzah under the direction of a rabbi, and then ground up for use in cooking". You can't even eat kerneled corn. (Mind you, the restrictions are different depending on your level of orthodoxy and your ethnic/cultural group within Judaism.) Pesach is a favorite holiday of mine, but yeah... Post a comment in response: |
