That's bullshit, man. I mean, some restaurants will do medium well a little more or less than others, but the term doesn't completely change just because you're at a different place.
My roommate has to have steak completely done with no pink whatsoever, and she will send steak back if it's not done. It's amazing how many times she'll say "completely done, no pink at all" and the thing'll come out so rare I wouldn't even eat it. We thankfully haven't had anyone get snotty about it going back, though.
