Apostrophes: Serious Business

I just... I think I'll just leave these here:

Waterstones, the bookshop, has dropped the apostrophe in its trading name and logo, sparking outrage among some of its customers.

"It's just plain wrong", said John Richards, chairman of the Apostrophe Protection Society

(Tried going meta by putting "Apostrophe's:" in the subject, but I think that was just too evil for the mods.)

...Okay, now I've seen it all.

Now I'm trying to make it scan to "Mutual Admiration Society"...

They came for the apostrophes, but I wasn't a punctuation mark, so I just kind of said "what" and...

Oh, never mind.

That was my very favorite part. Can we start the Semicolon Appreciation Society next?

I'll join; I love a good semicolon.

I agree; it's a lovely little piece of punctuation.

It's a popular punctuation mark around here; my boss dressed up as a semicolon for Halloween once.

I've been known to abuse them sometimes; woken up with a few stuck to my face.

Oh, God. Was that designed in the 90s? (90's?)

The colors. The fonts. The layout. I cry.

Tsk-tsk: 90s.

Yeah, the apostrophe is apparently not the only thing they protect. Angelfire, we hardly knew thee. Or maybe Geocities.

It's because I steal them to work in my comma fields.

Where were they when I was proofreading freshman papers in college?
