Apostrophes: Serious Business

I just... I think I'll just leave these here:

Waterstones, the bookshop, has dropped the apostrophe in its trading name and logo, sparking outrage among some of its customers.

"It's just plain wrong", said John Richards, chairman of the Apostrophe Protection Society

(Tried going meta by putting "Apostrophe's:" in the subject, but I think that was just too evil for the mods.)

That name is just baffling, especially for a furniture store.

It really, really is. I was first told that they had a contest for people to use the initials P.M. in a new way, but when I went looking for confirmation it said it's accidental which makes it all the more weird. They wanted a name to dispell the idea that they only sold bedroom stuff, which I guess is what they got, kind of.

Now they sound like one of those stores that sells knick-knacks, jewelry, cards, and etc. I love those stores. I would be disappointed when I walked into Penny Mustard and saw couches instead.

Am I the only one to whom "Penny Mustard" sounds like a swinging 60's espionage-a-go-go heroine?
