Hey, I "know" this "author"!
He got banninated from the Amazon customer discussion forums for spamming all over the place, and then he got banninated from MobileRead apparently for sockpuppeting and private-message-harassing and gratuitously insulting other members and the mods, and I think he's been banninated from the KindleBoards forum, too.
He did that "wrote longhand with a pen in prison" spiel over at MR, too, and would repeatedly do this thing where he'd insist that the umpty-hundred pages available in the sample of his then-major offering (something about Dragoneers) were more than sufficient for you to see how quality his writing was, so you could see that you'd be getting value for money for the $7 or so he was charging for it back then, compared to other, lesser, merely traditionally-published books, which didn't give you nearly as much trial pagecount for "free".
