I'm currently pregnant with my first baby (should find out the gender next week!), and have been facing similar problems as I try to set up my registry. Apparently there is no gender neutral in the world of baby merch these days -- or at least not clothing. It's either hot pink sparkly stuff that says "Princess" all over it, or blue and covered with trucks and firemen with various boy-related phrases emblazoned on it. Is it too much to ask for something with, you know, brightly-colored animals on it or something? And no writing clearly stating the intended gender of the wearer? :(
