Pasting part of my reply to full_metal_ox here, since it applies: there's the whole issue of whether or not you can lump all Jötnar in with the hrimtursar/Frost Giants, since there are eldjötnar/fire Jötnar as well. So even if Farbaute/Farbauti is Jötun, he's not necessarily a Frost Giant, and his name seems to confirm/support that.
