In the episode, the man says something about having a lot of money and so he bought his wife a restaurant. There's a lot of this type of business in Northern Michigan: open 3-4 months a year, not terribly busy during those months. They make a little money, but not enough for someone to depend on the business for a living. But that's where the similarities end, because those businesses are run like actual businesses -- like, the owners don't scream at customers or go through a few dozen employees per month.
