Apparently it's offensive to sing and serve ice cream
Well... I was reading fandom_wank and someone pointed out the community mock_the_stupid over on LJ. Being a fan of mocking stupid people when I'm at home as well as at work, I thought I'd join up because, hey -- mocking people is fun!

In any case, as I was perusing yesterday's offerings, I ran across our favorite creator of knife-raping robots, caminante, who, apparently doesn't think that people serving ice cream should be allowed to do so to boot-camp marching songs.

Now, I ask you: If the people making your ice cream are yelling "I DON'T KNOW BUT I'VE BEEN TOLD, THESE ICE CREAM TREATS ARE MIGHTY COLD!" what would you do?

Start a call and response, of course!

Considering that caminante is both a troll and, as they say in the trade, "batshit insane" (and yes, I'm aware of the postings of those who claim to know him saying "It's just an act", but I don't think you can act THAT batshit insane for that long in so many places without it being a fair amount true), I would classify it as a high probability his drill-song singing ice cream attendants are, as the phrase goes, "about as real as Pamela Anderson's tits".

Like most of the commenters to the actual thread, I say: Coldstone Creamery. They do stuff like that. It's kind of messed up, but the ice cream is so good I put up with the occasional outbursts of song. They're apparently required to sing/chant when tipped, unless the tipper says otherwise.

Hell of it is, I'm an insane tipper (left a really awesome waitress at California Pizza Kitchen a $35 tip on a $47 check the other week), but the embarrassed looks on the Cold Stone workers' faces make me feel GUILTY AS HELL about tossing them a couple of bucks.

Also, mmmmmmmm . . . cheesecake ice cream with pie crust crumbs and strawberries.

Maybe so, but there is the whole fact that caminante once claimed to have come up with a better Taco Bell commercial that involved Vikings crushing women and flinging exploding babies, so you can understand my reticence to believe... well, pretty much anything he posts. If he posted saying that the sky was above and the ground was below, I'd look out the window to check.

I dunno... I'm more likely to point and laugh at nesshelper than caminante... nesshelper's wanky and stupid, but he does it in such a way that he's not actually trying to be, and it's actually funny. caminante is doing his absolute damnedest to be a psychotic asshole, and when I look at his journal I don't laugh, I kind of go "... What the fuck is WRONG with this person?"
I mean, I can UNDERSTAND trolls. I don't like them, but I can understand what they're about. I can, by the exact same token, understand stupidity, and jerks. What I can't understand is someone that would be -so dedicated- to appearing this way, as some literally insane troll, that they would apparently do it in every facet of their online life. There is no venue we've seen him post in that he DOESN'T act like this. There is no HINT that it's actually an act. If this is just his "persona" he uses for getting attention, he's used it so much that it's obviously become ingrained, and that frightens me.
It's kind of like the "animekin" wank that was posted awhile back. Except instead of inspiring a brief snort and a shake of the head, it inspires the desire to scoot back from the computer monitor in shock and horror.

Word. Even when I'm not craving a shower just by reading his posts, my major reaction is not good. There's something broken in his head, whether it's being literally insane, or just thinking that the act is in any way entertaining or witty.

I'd also throw in the opinion that caminante is just not funny, and thus does not get the You're A Troll, But At Least You're Funny pass.

*hmmms* True. I admit that I think he's scary and frequently very unfunny but sometimes my dull horror just transmutes into a kind of hysterical laughter... of the you just scared the hell out of me type.

Then again, I have the urge to start pointing and laughing before I read what he's written. Of course, I encourage that kind of behavior when referring to people who expose themselves, too. *shrugs*

Yeah, there's a link to it in one of the wanks that's been posted about him on F_W... I read it, and even I, who's been a target of some of his weirder and more fucked-up trolling, wound up just sitting there staring at it in a very "WTF?" place for several minutes.
