Wank is brewing in

customers_suck. As usual.

We start off here, with

queenmadeline. She/He/It (reasons for gender confusion to be discussed below) posts about a rude customer and describes her/his/its over-reaction to said rude customer (which included lying about being a manager and telling the customer to fuck himself). She/He/It then rages about a fink co-worker, and hopes she/he/it will not be fired for massively over-reacting, lying, and swearing.

I work for a restaurant that has food available for delivery and carryout. Actually I don't know if I work there anymore. Here's what happened:

Tonight I was answering phones and this guy calls, he wants a delivery. I start to take his name and adress and the computer won't let it go through because he's not in our delivery area. I ask where he's located to make sure he's not in our area and he raises his voice and says,

"This is the third number I've called tonight, whats wrong with you guys?"

I keep trying to be polite.

I say: "Well tell me exactly where you're located and I'll determine which one of our restaurants you should call"

He barely lets me finish what I'm saying when he replies with his voice still raised " Am I going to get my food from you guys tonight or not?!"

And at this point I decide to stop being polite because I don't get paid to get yelled at by idiots. I don't care if I lose my job I am not going to let anyone treat me like trash and take out their frustration on me like that.

I say: "For one thing its not "you guys", You're talking to me as an individual."

He replies "It is you guys, if you want to give me hell-"

And at this point I interupt him and say: "Why don't you come up here if you have a problem? Come up here and call me "you guys" directly to my face and see what the fuck happens."

He the pauses for a few seconds and asks "Whats you're name?"

Me: "I don't have to tell you my name."

Him: "Whose your manager? Let me talk to your
manager."

Me: "I am the manager."

Him: "You're not the manager,"

Me: "I am the manager so fuck you!" And at this point I hang up on him. I'm thinking to myself that I handled that pretty well, when I turn around and one of my coworkers is standing right there.

Coworker: "You're not supposed to be mean to customers like that"

Me: "That guy was yelling at me first."

And at this point the phone starts ringing so I pick it up and hang it up real fast because I can see from caller ID that its the same guy.

Coworker: "It doesn't matter, you have to get a manager if the customer asks to speak with one"

Me: "Ok whatever, just don't answer the phone if this guy calls back ok?"

And then the phone rings and my coworker picks it up very quickly before I can, and its the same idiot asshole and of course he asks for the manager and not only does my coworker get the manager, he tells the guy my name.

The guy yelled at my manager for like five minutes. After she got off the phone my manager was sort of understanding, but she's not the main manager so I don't know whats going to happen yet. I don't know what makes me more angry, the rude customer or my tattle-tale coworker.

Right away, people begin telling her/him/it that she/he/it shouldn't have cussed. S/H/It responds by whining, I wasn't trying to have a philosophical debate with him, I was trying to get the message across to him that I wasn't going to take his abuse, and that if wanted to talk to me like then he would get physically hurt. (Did I mention this was a telephone conversation?) S/H/It also accuses her/his/its co-worker of smoking pot.

Then

thecrimsondrago pipes up with: weren't you the meat chick from LJdrama?, and it starts getting real. Our Hero/ine first insists that s/h/it is not a girl, then promises Judgement Day for LJdrama and the wank communities, and drags pokemon and neopets into things! Bitter, anybody?

The rest of the comments... some are reasonably calm, but plenty are outright flames. Furries and sexual orientation are, naturally, brought up, by somebody whose only purpose in life seems to be either (a) annoying people, or (b) invoking some kind of argument law. And it's still growing.

EDIT: Our Hero/ine also has a lengthy post in her/his/its personal journal explaining why we should all shoplift from Hot Topic or something like that.

	Well I can understand why they were annoyed, the customer really wasn't winning any points with me. But christ man how old is this person? This like something you do in grade school, not at work. (Reply to this)

Sadly, yes. It was linked on mock_the_stupid, but I believe it was originally on an animal rights comm. Can't recall if it actually made it here or not... At any rate, he (um, I guess?) had this brilliant idea to stop supermarkets from carrying steaks. He would steal a steak or two a week and hide it elsewhere in the store until it went bad! Surely then the manager would realize that Meat is Bad and stop ordering it! Except not.

I'm a little late to the party on this one, but, yeah. She also claimed her parents were addicts who had abandoned her, and she had to live on the streets and shoplift, yadda yadda. Then someone found her website, with stories about Girl Scout art camp and trips to Europe. Hilarity ensued.

I'm really overly amused at how offended the guy is about being assumed to be female. Why, of course one would have to be an idiot to assume that a poster is female merely because his LJ name is "queenmadeline" and "Tasha" is listed in his real-name field! I mean, how stupid were we?!

That would require setting foot inside one. The over abundance of fluffy bunny anarchists/punks/pagans/ & such ilks makes it hard to go near the local HT.

She's at least more amusing than the typical teeny-angsty-gothabe... those often actually do start ignoring people mocking them, though they do it more in an attempt to be cool than actually stop any flamage. This one just gets more and more pissed off and acts more and more like a furious ten-year-old. "My friends are gonna beat you up!"

Made a little update here! But also, as an unrelated update, the "steal from hot topic" post has, sadly, either been deleted, or, they finally, finally realized it wasn't friends-locked like they said it was going to be, and friends-locked it.
