Middling wank from the feminist communtiy for you!
The wank is not large, and while the members of the community do pretty good, the OP was simply too asurb to pass up.

Over in the feminist community, libertariangurl makes this post.

The Wankiest Parts!

"If most women like to be primarily wives and mothers, why do we need feminism anymore?" - libertariangurl

--

"Now that we can vote and we can go to work IF we want to, and we still choose to stay at home or don't want to work as much as it takes to get to the top, I don't see what feminism can accomplish now except intolerance for men." - libertariangurl

---

Volvita: First of all, "most" women do not like to be primarily wives and mothers, and that's an incredibly presumptuous thing for you to say.

Libertariangurl: I've read a bunch of statistics that say that most women in the U.S. are married and most have children.

---

Libertariangurl: I just think lots of young women who say they don't want babies will probably change their minds later. That's all! Jeez. I thought that was common knowledge.

Androgybunny: It's actually total bullshit, but whatever.

---

"See, I think we haven't achieved "equality" because we don't WANT equality." - Libertariangurl

---

Well, I think that's enough of the wankiest parts, though I have a feeling that there is more.

Libertariangurl also says, "Why do you think I have an attitude? I was just stating my opinion." Now, ignoring that she posted her opinions in the feminist community, did by any chance she just violate a Jurisprudence law?

Favorite quote? "Of all of my female friends, only one to two of them want to stay home and raise children. The rest want to get jobs, and be able to support themselves. A smaller (but still large) portion of them don't want to have children at all, as they hate them." - Kikayume

But I actually don't think that the OP is a troll. Just severly misinformed.

Feminism has always been about CHOICES. If a woman wants to be a wife/mother, then she should be able to do so. If she wants only a career, then she should be able to do so.

The point is that women should have the same freedom of choices that men supposedly have enjoyed without a glass ceiling or unreasonable consequences.

Yeah. Exactly. Dead on. You get points for being concise and summerizing what everyone in the feminist communtiy said in a response.

I love how libertariangurl unintentionally answers her own question:

We still need feminism because people like libertariangurl don't understand that there is a distinction between wanting to marry and have children and being willing to be forced to be full-time wives and mothers. We still need feminism because people like libertariangurl believe that women don't want equality and that reproductive biology is destiny. We still need feminism because somebody needs to give people like libertariangurl a goddamn clue.

(Ah, italics of rage, you're so... liberating.)

Libertariangurl: I've read a bunch of statistics that say that most women in the U.S. are married and most have children.

So naturally they're ALL stay-at-home moms! You can forget about all those working single mothers, or women who have husbands and children who work as well.

And we know that things like divorce, death and bad planning never happen to married women with children, so there's no need for them to be able to get decent jobs!

Yeah, my thoughts exactly. Most men in America are married with children, too; the point of feminism is that women aren't *only* wives and mothers; that even if they choose to take on these roles, they can have identities outside of it.

But I actually don't think that the OP is a troll. Just severly misinformed.

I honestly can't tell. From her own journal:

Well, I just got this journal and I found a community called 'feminist' so I joined it! I think I am a feminist in the old way, or maybe that is to say I would have been a feminist before women had the power to use their free will to the fullest extent. Now that we do, though, I am having trouble understanding why we need feminism. But these ladies are getting really mad! Nobody understands libertarianism:(

Trolls often come off as feeling constructed. A troll is a construct designed to get a rise out of someone, but the OP has a feeling of genuinity. If she's a troll, she's a damn good one. Though this rise may be done for the sake of humor or because the person truely belives in it, there is still that intent. I just get the feeling that libertariangurl doesn't get it.

Then again, I could be wrong, but if I am, then she's a really good troll.

I really, really should not have clicked on those links, because the mere thought that anyone could think like that makes me seethe. Frankly, I take statements suggesting that most women want to to be wives and mothers incredibly personally. It's not true, and if you have a whole community of women telling you it's not true for them or their friends, then your supposed statistics won't do you a damn bit of good. And the 'you'll change your mind' line? No. Just no.

Aggh. IwillnotpostonthatcommunityIwillnotpostonthatcommunity...

I'm a stay-at-home mom. I have a good friend who's a career person, and she and her husband have made a very firm and carefully-thought-out decision to never have children. We find it amusing that we are both apparently betraying our Feminine Potential.

Well, I suppose that in some twisted way, the OP has a point.

Feminism has obviously failed her, because she clearly lacks the ability to develop and express informed opinions.

And I wish I could believe that this was a troll, but I know people just like this in real life, and I know that someone, somewhere would have taught them how to use the internet.
