Krissie update
Yesterday I posted about Krissie and Avon and that huge tribunal they held for her.

Krissie explains herself. No one believes her still.

You know what gets me here as I'm reading all this with a morbid fascination? This girl appears to be the wankiest thing I've seen in quite some time, and what she apparently did to that poor woman who thought she had found her daughter was beyond contemptible. Unfortunately, I'm also having a very hard time dealing the lynch mob mentality of most of the posters there. I mean, I really hate lynch mob mentalities. That's why I like F_W, heh. We come together to snark, but damned if it's not the most perversely independent group around.(Jurisimprudence law being broken by me here? Something akin to Godwins, only with lynch mobs?)

Meh. It's a bunch of kids who have little grasp of the realities of the world. The self-righteousness oozes through. Not that I blame them...I wouldn't want that girl within 200 yards of anything I value, including my car, my future first-born, my sanity, or my code of ethics. She needs to get serious help.

What you said.

The whole "tribunal" thing was pretty silly and over-dramatic, but it pretty much brought to light the fact that this chick is bad news.

And about the whole lynch-mob thing? That's pretty much what teens do, offline and online. They're "the mean girls from high school" after all. :)

Well, SOME of it's probably lynch mob mentality, but considering what she's done, I think a fair amount might be people feeling betrayed, or people just calling her on her bullshit.
I think this is a really high school thing here, but not necessarily the "mean girls"... might be more the just general snippiness and persecution complexes that accompany high school.
As I once wrote Ayeka thinking, "My mother doesn't understand me and I'm in a terrible relationship. No other young woman in the universe could have such problems..."

I think The Article is also having a great deal to do with all of this. Who would've ever expected anything like *that*? It really elevates the situation above "omg she lied!" to "budding con artist." Personally, I hope she does try to come up with an explanation. It'll be gold.

I think we in-fight too much to get a real mob mentality going. ^.^

I think the lynch mob is just what happens when people realize that they're dealing with a manipulator. Krissie is going to try to get people to believe weird stuff about her and she's going to twist the truth around. Her goal seems to be to have people care about her, and just feels horribly icky get sucked into caring about someone based on lies they've told. Krissy apparently doesn't understand how icky it feels.

I think if they hadn't cared or been compassionate toward her in the first place, there wouldn't be a lynch mob now. So yeah, if in the future they grow more cynical and take everything with a grain of salt, they aren't going to act like this sort of lying is such a huge betrayal.

Yep. Not that I'm a psychologist, psychiatrist, psychic, or anyone else qualified to psychoanalyze this chick based on half a dozen posts, but I've seen other people pulling this exact same crap enough times to detect a certain pattern. The girls on the forum have already done the only thing they could really do, which was to expose her lies and let her know that she'd been caught. The lynch mob isn't going to do anything more to help, and in fact it's playing right into her manipulative little hands ("Look, they're attacking me!!! See how mean they are and how nice and misunderstood I am? Don't you believe me now?")

Sadly, the best those people on the forum can hope for is to convince her that they're now onto her game, and persuade her to pack up her little bag of lies and peddle them elsewhere. If they're lucky, she'll leave without staging a fatal illness and/or faking a suicide. I just feel sorry for the next batch of suckers.

Too late! She's already claimed to have leukemia. The suicide threats will be coming any day now.

I read through some more of the two main threads this morning, and gathered that she'd already mentioned the leukemia several times in the past. At least it'll be a handy illness to pull back out of the bag. According to this post, made by someone who is apparently an ex-friend, Krissie has been claiming to have had the disease since she was two. At one point previous to that, I remember reading that Krissie did state that she was cured, but I couldn't find the link back to that. (My dial-up is only connecting at 24K today for some reason, and the pages, when they load at all, are loading like treacle.)

This girl absolutely has to go into politics. I mean, it's amazing--the constant semantics of "exaggerating" vs. "lying," the whole "I have been advised not to talk about that article for a couple of days"--she's a natural. I can't decide if she's desperately covering her ass now that she's been caught out or if she really is that hapless--that she really doesn't understand that she was telling actual lies and why that upsets everyone. If she breaks down and starts confessing, someone let me know.

Oh, and on page ten, some girl quotes something "Seth" said: "In my ethology, lying is the ultimate sin against humanity because it defeats the exogenetic source of information that we can carry on from generation to generation: the words and writings of those that came before us. I wish it were negatively portrayed in more ethologies. Alas, we live in a contradiction of a superstitious world where one ultimate truth is just as good as another."

WTF? Dude, just say, "Lying's the worst. Especially since everything's relative now and no one can decide what truth is. I wish more people took lying seriously." Exogenetic source my ass.

Yup.

1. The scientific study of animal behavior, especially as it occurs in a natural environment.
2. The study of human ethos and its formation.

"Saying something that's blatantly untrue isn't a lie!"

The sad part is, I'm not sure whether I want her to actually think that.

eep. what a trainwreck that whole situation is turning into. and still i watch, with morbid fascination - compulsive lying has always intrigued me, as i've known so many fine liars in my day.

here's hoping that a few of them have learned to take fantastic claims with a grain of salt, and the next liar won't rope them in so easily.

Yikes--have you read the comment from this Jeannette/Sexalicious girl? That birth mother thing wasn't the only scam Krissie was pulling, apparently. The worst part of it is--I don't even see how Krissie is benefitting from any of this (she apparently spent $900 buying tickets good enough to seem as if Lance Bass had given them to her). It's like... she's not even trying to con people out of money. She just has this sick need for attention.

Yeah, that was prime. It's like everything she says follows this pattern of, "I don't want to do ____ , except for the part where I totally, totally am."

synchronized: I'm sick of this. I'm sick of people attacking her, I'm growing wary of people attacking me for not attacking her, I'm growing tired of people asking me whether or not I believe her, does it really look like I care anymore? No, I really don't .... yadda yadda yadda...
I don't care who you are, I'm tired of people constantly bugging me... yadda yadda... guess what? Krissie has a life. DundunDUN. Bet that scared you right out of your pants, didn't it? ... blah blah blah blah... I know I'm a better person for not taking sides in this worthless debate. It's entirely useless... yadda yadda yadda... I accept Krissie's apology though, because I'm a nice person (oh burn, bet some of you didn't know that)... Why can't you, then, keep your own opinions to yourself? No one cares whether or not you believe Krissie, no one fucking cares</i>... She's just another person. Do you make this big a deal out of things when someone in real life lies to you, even if they do it repeatedly?... yadda yadda ... I'm done. Whatever.

Holy shit! Bitter much?
