RPG wank.
PBEM.com is a place where people can look for e-mail based RPGs to play in. One of the sections is for players to post about the types of RPGs they'd like to join.

Some of the ads on that particular section of the site are wanky in and of themselves, but it's when people don't actually post about the types of games they're interested in that things get interesting.

As I can't link to specific posts and since the site tends to cycle out old posts eventually, allow me to copy and paste.

In being a GM, I have learned quite a few things which could give all
of us a bad name. The first of which is bad manners and behaviors,
such as the spamming of this list. And in so saying: If we do not
contact you about our game, do not contact us about it.
The second thing is to not force games down our throats. Believe it or
not, there is an unwritten list of etiquette many of us probably sim
by, a Code of Ethics and Conduct if you will. It is common knowledge
that updated ads are a sign of a healthy game, but posting the same ad
over and over when someone forces it down the list by 2-3 spaces is
not only rude and conceited, but it is childish. As was said before:
if someone is looking for your game, they?ll find it; you?d also being
doing the rest of us a favor by: 1). by not forcing the same game
repeatedly down our throats, and 2). by keeping the lists somewhat
neat and tidy. Reposting your ad once a week on average will get you
favorable results without annoying anyone.
Another very good point was brought up: if your ad doesn?t fit in with
a specific genre, then don?t post it there. Futuristic Super Heroes do
not belong on the Medieval Fantasy list for example, as it only
clutters things up and peeves off many. (Star Trek and D&D do have a
tiny bit of lee-way in the Sci-Fi or Medieval categories but don?t push it.)
The forth thing is, that if your game inspires negative responses
because it is cheesy, poorly developed, or just plain insults our
intelligence, it is strongly suggested that you don?t post ads for
that particular game anymore unless you?ve re-worked the idea or
developed it further. You would have better luck on all fronts.
For those of you who read through my rant, thank you very much for your time.

You know "Wendy"...
You seem to have serious emotional issues. You rant on and on about
spamming the lists here yet when searching for a game to join I find
your email, your name and ad after ad for games you are evidently
running on every last category listing here.
You seem like one of those control freak kind of GMs, we've all had
the misfortune of dealing with people like you in the past.
You posted some inane, worthless and frankly moronic little whine here
on a board which is intended for players who are seeking a game.
Why don't YOU take your own advice, stop spamming every category here
with ads for your games, pick one and that's enough..
And stop flapping your fingers at us with your pointless whining...
No one needs it. No one cares. And all you've done is show anyone
who reads your little nag that your games are definately NOT worth the
effort because you are undoubtedly one of "those" GMs who no one simms
with for long because your attitude is repulsive.

I would like to clarify one or two things. First, what I meant by
spamming was the act of listing down peoples email addresses and then
sending them invites to their games when the receivers of the invites
showed no prior interest in the game at all. And second, If I had
offended anyone with my rant, I would have prefered that responses to
it would have been sent to me privately.
Thank you for your time.

It's small, and I suspect it won't go any further, but honestly I think both parties are being wanky in this case.
