Friends list WAAAAAs!
I'm sure we've all had this happen to us...

[info]stevefarrel is removed from someone's friends list and that person doesn't explain why. Instead of shrugging it off like most people, he throws a hissy fit:

What the hell bizarre alternate universe do people who do that live in? A universe where people don't get pissed off and angry that someone they consider to be a friend, even if they don't speak that much to them, would fuck them off? This has happened twice now, and I deserved neither of them. What makes this worse is that someone who, because of things that happened recently, should have removed me a while back is still listing me. Okay, they haven't said that much to me for a couple of weeks, but so what? You don't remove someone from your friends' list for no fucking reason, you just don't do that. You just fucking don't, okay?

Well, sure we do. Because you see, most people don't make a big deal of it.

You know, if it's really bugging him that much, he could just ask the person why they defriended him. Oh, wait. There I go again with the Earth logic.

Icon love!

Blinking Hinoto rocks.

*does the happy dance of joy* My first icon love for an icon I made!

(I know, if kinda does, but I figure that if you'd ever get Hinoko to say/think "bitch, please" then it would be something really, really bad. Plus she's my favorite X character. Next to Kotori. Who makes me cry. ;_;)

Kotori's very sweet and what happens to her makes me cringe and cry. 8( Weirdly, I identify most with Hinoko... I hope I'm not the only one disturbed by this. ^_^

Hinoto's got it rough, dude. She's like Cassandra - she can see the future, but despairs of ever being able to change it. She's sacrificed so much for the sake of her gift, and look what it's gotten her. *pets her*

I identify most with Arashi. She's got the same tough exterior with a mooshy center as I have, except she definitely has better luck finding a good man.

I adore Arashi, but I don't identify with her. I don't manage the tough girl exterior, though; I'm far more likely to pull a Tohru or Kotori or Duo and hide behind a smile and pleasant manner.

I do adore Hinoto, though; especially when she says "I can do all this, but I can't save this one girl..." Urg; heart wrencher.

I hate when people make a big deal about this- it makes other people in LJ-land skittish about perceptions and rudness. Then you get them not unfriending people they really really want to, and much whining and passive-aggresivness ensues.

Indeed.

Eventually I learned to just suck it up, post a preemptive note to the effect of "I don't hate any of you, if you really want back in then tell me" and cull every now and then. Nobody cares.

Though I still can't find it in me to add people whose journals I find interesting if I don't already know them, because I'm afraid they'll freak out and go OMGOMGOMGSTALKER. It's like this in reverse. :/

Maybe his journal was boring. I had this one girl on my friends list, and all she did was whine about her boyfriend - how they would break up, how she missed him, etc. Eventually it got to be too much, so I de-friended her. Wasn't that I didn't like her, I was just sick of reading about her boyfriend.

They really should change it to 'Stalks' and 'Stalked By'

Eeeeeexactly.

Hell, if you're going to get bent out of shape over a defriending, at least get bent out of shape for the right reasons. "OMG she thinks my LJ is stoopid! How RUDE!"

At least that'd be a new drama.

I do kinda like the fact that i have a DJ when i am one of the least goth types i know. I had some friends on each service, though i think i'm down to only a couple on DJ that aren't on LJ. Not entirely sure why i keep both up, but it's become a habit. Repeating all that crap on here seemed silly, when like so many, i'm just here to read the wank and point and laugh.

And it was always the same cycle too.

"I fell asleep next to him. I love him so much!"

"We fought today. He keeps on talking about how I'm whiny and clingy."

"He hasn't called - I miss him!"

"I shall wax urply poetic about how much I miss him for five of six page length entries."

"Why isn't he returning my calls?"

Mmm. Friends-list wank. You know, LJ hosts some primo wankers, but at times I think I don't give them enough credit for having created that source of never-ending wank that is the "friending" system. Never change, LJ, we like you just the way you are. Sort of.

LJ is a mass of over emotional crackpots crying out for attention, and sometimes to be a man you just have to rise above it and move on.

(Be a MAN!) You must be swift as the coursing river...

Seriously, though, that person who unfriended him? Most. Boring. Journal. EVER OH MY GOD. I can understand being a bit miffed at the ego ding, but jeez, it's not like he got unfriended by Wil Wheaton.
