LJ thinks of the children...
First time wanker, long time reader.

jproulx posts in news that LJ's been asked by The National Campaign to Prevent Teen Pregnancy to post a link to a survey, as it is the third annual "National Day to Prevent Teen Pregnancy" today.

disconscious wants to know why LJ's endorsing a political agenda, causing episcopus to reply:

Because it's their company and they can? Maybe? Hm?

That doesn't sit well with the self-professed "leftie," and wank ensues.

Also, later in the post, misslisi, who opines...

ugh. this is a terrible organization who just puts down teen moms and really does nothing to prevent teen pregnancy except encourage the stereotype that teen moms will never finish school, make nothing of themselves, and become welfare leeches and a burden on society. We must support teen moms instead of villifing them... please, i encourage you to NOT support this organization..

which makes techieguru blow a gasket...

Jesus fucking christ, do you people even read the website? They don't say that teen parents are evil! They just point out all the negatives associated with teen parenting, negatives backed up by years of research.

This has only just begun...to liiiiiiiive!

ETA Some of the most true comments come later in the thread, though not wanky, alas. And let's not forget those who threaten to not renew their paid accounts!
