why is it ok to have gay pride, Asian pride, black pride Mexican pride and so on and its seen as a good thing, but if some one claims to have white pride they are a raciest?

And spare me the, "everyone hates me because I'm a straight white male!" crap. I'm anti-affirmative action and I think that's a load of hooey.

I loveth you! If I hear one more '*I* am the real oppressed person' whine, I might stab someone with a fork. I'm not a real fan of 'more oppressed than thou' in any case, but to claim that the straight white guys are suffering in silence is pretty ludicrous. Yes, that's why the president of the USA and the prime ministers of Canada and Britain are all black women.

This rant is often followed up with 'liberals are oppressing Christianity by disallowing prayer in school! The Bible is forbidden, books about gay parents are overrunning children's libraries!' And I could go on for some time about that one.

You know, technically, semantically, a white pride or a straight pride community should be as legitimate as a black pride or a gay pride community. But that's being pretty willfully ignorant.

	Usually I take any sort of "pride" of that nature (based on what ethnicity someone has, their gender, or who they sleep with) as a superiority complex. Nothing more, nothing less. You don't need any justification from oppression to have your nose stuck up in the air. (Reply to this)(Thread)

	Frankly, I'm rather embarrassed of my European heritage. Now, my straightness is not something I can help, and I do take pride in my desire to have sex with women, as sex isn't something to be ashamed of.
