Anonymous VS Scientology Part 3

[info]solle
February 10th was International IRL Scientology Raid Day!

The results:
List of pictures and videos of international raids
Definitive headcount per city of February 10th
Epic worldwide news coverage

In total, an estimated 6500 Anonymous marched worldwide to stop Scientology.

And of course, there's wank. )

Meanwhile, anti-Scientology celebrities continue to support Anonymous! Paulette Cooper issued a statement that:

“Anonymous has become Unanimous – one voice at last unafraid to tell the truth about the many evils of the Scientology cult. On February 10th, in one day, one person, Anonymous, accomplished more than I did in 15 years by getting over 7000 people in almost 100 world-wide cities to come out publicly and bravely oppose Scientology.”Paulette Cooper

But that's not all: Karin Spaink (of XS4all fame) actually showed up for the Amsterdam raid! (Then again, so did Splongcat.)

The next raid is March 15th - unite as one, divide by zero, beware the ides of March, bring a party hat!

ETA - This was yesterday's front page of a national free Dutch newspaper. No, srsly. Comes with translation!

ETA #2 - Epic flash video is epic too.

Anonymous VS Scientology Part 2

[info]shallow_kid
A small update.

News of Anonymous' attempts to expel Scientology from the internets and disseminate the batshit truth about them is picking up steam in mainstream-ish media and pwning Digg (see the "Top in All Topics" section.)

A spokesperson for the Co$ recently made the first stroke in what we hope will become an extended fapping session by saying that the "church" does not give a damn. “We have our books. We have our people. And we can speak,” she said.

Thems fightin' words, lady!

ETA: Bonus fapping from this guy. Yeah. Good luck with that, buddy.

ETA2: Thanks to [info]solle for the following updates.

Get your hot, sweaty Scientology action here. You in the mood for some OT VIII baby? No? How about some CIA-related batshit instead? If that doesn't tickle your fancy, watch the full Tom Cruise video. He's an American heartthrob! Or are your tastes more inclined towards full on government penetration? Join in the fun if there's an orgy taking place in a city near you! Keep it legal but lulzy, folks! Warren Ellis and Stephen Colbert approve this message!

ETA3: More specific updates thanks again to [info]solle
Scientology gets Bel-Aired. Proof that L. Ron was a fucktard. Scientology ruins lives. Here is one of many stories.

Anonymous declares War on Scientology

[info]criticalcricket
Yep, that's right. It seems that Tom Cruise's googly moogly brainwashing video and it's subsequent removal from the net bunched up anonymous' panties. So it's war! They have named their movement "Project Chanology" and you can read all the sordid details on Encyclopedia Dramatica and The Insurgent Wiki and read what anonymous is up to on the discuss boards ED and IW.

So far, the plan of attack is a massive barrage of Denial of Service attacks that have been unleashed upon various scientology sites. It seems that one website, Religiousfreedomwatch.org (currently down), has offered a reward for various participants.

The Project Chanologists want the word out. They've created a video of intent that has been dugg nearly 5,000 times . News of the hacking of some top secret Scientology documents has been dug over 3,000 times. They've even put out a Press Release. Project Chanology wants you to spread the word of anonymous.

So far, few sites have picked up on it. A few that have taken notice are The Budapest Times, Wikinews, Gawker, and USAtoday.com.

Even the cute little denizens of Gaia are going at it but oh noes! dissenters!

Overall, it's pretty amusing. I'm sure I'm not the only one that wonders if this “hacktivism” can really bring down the “Church” of Scientology. After all, let's face it, Anonymous has way more free time on its hands than Scientology has money, lawyers, and movie stars put together.

Edit: Insugent Wiki links are currently being redirected to ebausmworld. =/ All better.
