I just wanted to recommend an interesting game called 'Pulse'.
The lead character is blind and finds their way around the world using echolocation with the help of utterly adorable creatures called 'Moko' which you can throw and then follow the sounds.
You can get more info on the site here: http://www.teampixelpi.com/
And Mangaminx does a play-through here:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j1XQPoo1zlw
Also plush Mokos are available.

Link. CHICAGO (AP) — The Chicago Sun-Times is reporting that its film critic Roger Ebert has died. He was 70. The paper says on its website the Pulitzer Prize-winning film critic died Thursday. Ebert was known for his thumbs-up, thumbs-down TV reviews that influenced moviegoers across the nation. On Wednesday, he had announced on his blog that he was undergoing radiation treatment after a recurrence of cancer. Ebert was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in 2002 and later had surgery for cancer of the salivary gland. He lost his chin and his ability to speak. But he later resumed writing full-time and eventually even returned to television. Ebert started as a film critic for the Chicago Sun-Times in 1967. In 1975 he became the first movie reviewer to get the Pulitzer Prize for criticism.

So. The cardinal rule of using US national parks is "leave nature as you found it", right?
A little girl named Evie realized that she hadn't done that -- she took two small sticks home from a trip to Yosemite.
So what did she do?
She mailed them back.

In the UK, the Crown Prosecution Service asked the police for a written statement from "Police Constable Peach". The police informed the CPS that "PC Peach" was actually "PD Peach", as in "Police Dog Peach". Undeterred, the CPS insisted on getting a statement from Peach. So, Peach's handler sent them the written statement they wanted.

io9: What would the chemical elements look like as cartoon characters? Lauren Davis February 9, 2013 For her senior thesis project for the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design, animator and illustrator Kaycie D. decided to take on a massive character design project. She would design a character based on each of the known chemical elements in the periodic table, until she had a complete world of science-inspired cartoon characters. More at Kaycie's blog.

I can't for the life of me remember the name of a website with free flash games that I used to visit a lot. Must have been ca. 2008. I don't know how long it had been around before. It might not even exist anymore, but perhaps someone remembers and would be so kind as to point me in the right direction:
What I remember: Everything was ... cute. The predominant colours were soft pink, light yellow, baby blue. The characters you played were teddy bears, smiling clouds, puppies, etc. At first sight it might have seemed like it was meant for very small children, but it was all very aesthetic, artsy, and tasteful. I didn't necessarily go there because of the games per se, the graphics were just so beautiful.
There was instrumental, "classical", relaxing background music. I don't think you could turn it off.
Some of the games (I never got to play them all, there were about twenty?!):
- Diving to the bottom of the sea. I think the reward was a coin inside a treasure chest.
- A mouse (?) jumping from car to car in heavy traffic.
- Deer jumping across a river. They jumped when you clicked on them, I think.
- Some sort of dog race/obstacle course on a (suburban?) street
- Something with black and white cats ... yeah.
Does anyone know what the heck I'm talking about? *hopeful*

NASA Television on YouTube: "NASA Johnson Style" ("Gangnam Style" Parody)
NASA astronauts and scientists are among those in this educational parody of Psy's popular music video. "NASA Johnson Style" was created, written and produced by the Houston center's co-op students who volunteered for the project "to inform the public about the amazing work going on at NASA and the Johnson Space Center."

Mashable: Mysterious Package Addressed to Indiana Jones Arrives at UChicago Eric Larson Grab hold of your thinking fedoras, everyone -- it's mystery solving time.
The University of Chicago received a bizarre package on Tuesday (pictured above) addressed to a "Henry Walton Jones, Jr." At first, nobody thought twice about it. Whatever, they figured, we get the wrong mail all the time.
But then it clicked. This wasn't just any "Jones" the sender was hoping to reach. This was the whip-snapping, Nazi-fighting, Holy Grail-hunting legend of a professor himself: the Indiana Jones. The University of Chicago has more at its Tumblr.
