Yeah Yeah Beebiss I ([info]harrylovesron) wrote in [info]random_rant,
It's rough not liking a food that almost everyone else likes.

Especially when my ma fixes it for a meal. My brothers, more than once, have made snotty comments about how I'm snubbing her cooking if I don't eat it. Well, what am I supposed to do- sit there with an empty plate and watch them eat? I love most of what Ma cooks, and me not liking one or two things != me snubbing her. I don't like certain foods no matter who fixes them. I'm more than happy to fix myself something whenever Ma cooks something I don't like, too, it's not like I'm trying to get her to tailor the menu to whatever it is I like all the time.

I've also gotten snotty "Just TRY it and you'll like it" comments from ALL of my family, which irritate me more than anything else. They have SEEN me try all of the foods I hate at some point, sometimes multiple times. If I didn't like sauerkraut/meatloaf/whatever the first 10 times I tried it, the 11th time isn't going to magically change my tastes.

It's a cucumber, not a still beating heart, fools.

I. LOVE. CUCUMBERS. I occasionally buy them to snack on- slice one in half and nibble, skin and all.
