wow. the attention to detail was amazing, i can see tonks doing the striptease, the malfoy potions room, snape choosing the bottom of his foot for the tattoo. i also really liked the portrayal of the malfoys, i think lucius would have gotten maudlin and narcissa overwrought, but only with snape. also, i liked the your snape, bitter, direct and realistic. and also really hot. you made him heroic as heroic as harry ever was and gave him a happy ending to boot!

	Lovely! This is Snape/Tonks at its very best. Loved the characterisation, the hopping between timelines, and the plot (there is definitely a plot there, a very engaging one). I enjoyed reading this very much. Thank you for sharing! (Reply to this)(Thread)

Not a pairing I've ever read - but you capture Severus perfectly here. A lot of writers make the mistake of turning up the snark and the Victoriana and thinking they've got a Snape. But they forget the gravitas, the mournfulness that lies underneath his barbed words. So this is my absolute favorite part of the piece:

"I will say this once and it will go no further. She was my friend, my best and only friend for many years and I failed her and I betrayed her. She was sister, confidante, partner in crime before the crimes were real. I loved her. She is gone."

Just... lovely, so grave and full of self-recrimination and loss.

By some happy coincidence, I came across your story while looking for my last fic - I was never in fandom, but I read a lot - and when I read chapter nine, I thought, This is what I needed to be able to leave. So thank you, Scheherazade, for a fitting thousand and first story.

I must agree with a lot of the other posters have said. This is a brilliantly woven story and I think characterizations were spot on. You've given us a far more well-rounded Snape than Jo ever did and I just have to <3 you for that because I adore every flawed inch of him to pieces. I also have to give you *squishies* for that conversation with Lucius. The openness between the two men was just fabulous. So thank you so much for a wonderful read! And I'm so glad you found a way to give Sev and Tonks a happy ending after all.

	A friend sent me a link to your story today and I'm so glad she did. It's a wonderful story, you have written the ending that Rowling should have written. I'm a sucker for sentiment and the sentiment you have put in this story is worthy of a John Ford movie. I love the entire scene in his rooms, especially the tatoos and the twist at the end was really worth waiting for. (Reply to this)

	This story is just amazing. Well-done! Severus is delightfully in character most of the time. The story follows canon so well and never falls into that sacharrin trap. And plottless? I think not. It has a built in plot simply by keeping to canon most of the way. The plot twist at the end is a creative and smooth one. Thanks for a great story. (Reply to this)
