Author notes: Huge, HUGE thanks to my beta, A, who was gracious enough to do me the awesome favor of helping to make this story the best it could be. I don’t know where I’d be without you. Thanks also to r_becca for her patience with me, and for her kindness toward me.
serpenscript, you requested a dark fic with plot, character development, and quite a few kinks that I worked very hard to incorporate into this gift, including those that don’t need warnings. I truly hope you enjoy it. Happy holidays.

Read the story here.

Wow, just like Luna to try something untested without learning the reversal - I've never read a Luna fic that would make things go wrong, though, and it added a deliciously dark twist to it all. Malfoy was utterly twisted and dark and depraved, and Hermione smartmouthing off, and poor Ginny - dunno why, but there are times I love a sweet romantic fic, and days where I just want to suffer along with my favourites in a painful darkfic. This is one of those latter, to save when I'm feeling masochistic. Thank you!!!

Holy cow. This is stunning. I owe you much more detailed feedback than that, which will have to wait for a more time-free time for me, I fear, but I wanted you to know that I REALLY liked this. Wow. :)

*back*

What a great take on the "Voldemort won" scenario! I like the women-centricity of it: Hermione, Luna, and Ginny trying to make their own way with the lot they've been given. I especially loved Hermione's POV, and how IC she was - constantly using her brain, trying to find a way out of her situation. I loved how she tried to trick Lucius - and the hints that Lucius had come to care for her, in his own twisted sort of way were delightful. It gives one hope that Hermione might actually be able to find the book someday, or convince Lucius to help her.

But even if she does, of course... you've raised such interesting questions about, What is reality? If she reverses the spell and send them back to the 'real' world... well, who's to say the slave world wasn't 'real', and the Harry-won world is just an illusion? It's so interesting!

I also really liked your Atwood-esque theme that dystopias must by nature involve violence against women. Okay, Atwood might not agree with the eroticisation of the non-con here, but hey, it's fanfic, and I really enjoyed it. *g* But, yes: the forced marriage, the blood-traitor laws, the rape and slavery (which seemed to extend to Seamus, Bill, and Ron, too, which is fascinating, although you kept the women at the centre of it) - all so well done.

[/rambling] Great story!

*spoilers for the ending*

Oh, and the ending! I meant to mention that. I admit that I was a bit disappointed at first: what happened, I wanted to know. How could you end there? But after thinking about it, it works really well for your dystopia. I expected, of course, that they would reverse the spell, land back in the common room, and wipe their brows in relief. But I actually love that you pulled that rug out from under me! It's so much creepier and dystopian that they can't escape! *shivers* REALLY nicely done. :)

Oohhh, this was deliciously dark and kinky and hot. I just love "what if Voldemort had won" scenarios. Clever way to do it, using that spell, and still basing the story in canon. And I loved that you left them there. I somehow thought you wouldn't but you did! This is the best worst kind of nightmare from which the characters realise have no hope of escaping. :D

You know, I love darkfic. But there's precious little of it that isn't horror or gore. This was fantastic! ♥

Oooh, wonderful work, secret author! This is perfectly twisted and dark. I love that the spell to change everything happens only days after Harry's victory. I was completely caught up in the story and carried along by the world of Luna's spell, Hermione's desperation and Lucius's evil charisma.

I have to be in the mood to read darkfic, so I'm glad I made the effort with this one. I was so frustrated with Luna! XD Hermione was wonderfully scrappy and determined, and Ginny was a great foil, and the whole combination resolving into that pudding scene at the end. That pudding scene nailed the futility in a particularly creepy way.

Eeeee, this is sooooo scary. Poor Hermione! I appreciate a good well-plotted darkfic, and this one definitely fits the bill. Well done!

The lesson is to always read all directions before casting a spell.

Very nicely plotted. I feel for everyone trapped there.

You know, I read the entire fic, expecting a somewhat happy ending, and then you just tore it away from me.

I have to admit, I'm not sure whether I'm more surprised that you did that...

Or that I loved the fic more than I already did specifically because you did that.

Seriously, words fail me. In the good way.

This was an amazing wonderfully written story. I couldn’t stop once I started yet I fell like there should be more to this story yet untold.

I'm actually speechless.... I don't suppose there is a sequel? Or do you wnat up to figure out in our own minds how it ended.

And may I be the first to say "awwww" I'm so twisted for finding it nice that Lucius likes Herms. xD Thats one of the main Luc/Herms I've read... Normally I'm a Sev/Herms girl. But Geez, it was so good.

And I love that the girls are sticking together, through the bad and with pudding. What better way? In a world thats falling in around you, sometimes the only thing you have is your friends and the hope that the next day can't be any worse than the ones that have already passed.
