Kimbra Hickey Reveals Self to Be Twilight Hand Model

"Now the New Yorker occasionally offers autographs near her local bookstore’s cash register when someone picks up a copy of the book. She also attends fan conventions, where she markets hand lotion — apple-scented, of course. She’s expressed interest in being cast in the Breaking Dawn movie, “even if they only wanted my hands in it.”
Hickey got $300 for the 2004 photo shoot that became Twilight’s cover and says she’s aware of at least four fans who have tattoos of her famous mitts.
As it happens, Hickey’s hands aren’t just for “looking.”
She’s also a massage therapist."

You know, I try to be as nonjudgmental as possible when it comes to tattoo subjects. But c'mon son. The book cover is hands. Hands.

I guess should stop being surprised when I hear things about Twilight fans like getting tattoos of the hands. Because I'm pretty sure that somewhere in some suburban subdivision, there's a 40 year old housewife with RPattz's face tattooed to her crotch.

“I see people reading it on the subway, and I say, ‘Those are my hands! I’m a hand model!’”

“I’m sure they think I’m crazy — a crazy lady on the subway.”

Oh lol.

I'm just wondering as to why you'd want to admit such a connection to Twilight in the first place.

It's a popular franchise, whatever we might think about its quality - why *wouldn't* some fame-seeker want to ride its coattails?

I'm happy for her that she got money for that and all, but... *too embarrassed from reading to finish thought* ^^;
