Alright! I'm sorry for posting this a little late, but here we have the images collected so far! You can link or post more images in the comments, but please give credit if known. Also, all NSFW stuff can only be posted as links, not as images, and need to have a warnings.

1:46PM - Night of the Bad Comic Artists Submission Post!

Greeting Boils and Ghouls! It's that time of year again! Halloween is coming up this weekend and we have a special trick or treat in store for you kiddies. A little horrible post I like to call:



I bet the woman with the nude back facing us has Rob Liefeld feet.

Please submit the most terrifying, most grotesque art that makes you scream out "ANATOMY DOESN'T WORK THAT WAY!" or "OH GOD, MY RETINAS!" you can find below as links or e-mail me the images. Please provide the name of the artist and comic title if known and not visible in the image, as well as context if applicable (but who needs context anyways)! Submissions need not be restricted to western art. Comments will be screened.

The images will be put up on October 30th at 5 p.m PST. That's 12 a.m on Halloween in Greenwich.

Believe me, these are extremely NSFW and involve things such as the misuse of images of milk being poured into glasses, possible medical issues, snakes photoshopped into places they shouldn't be, and of course, the head of Jared Padalecki pasted onto a variety of bodies.

Also, Picasso didn't compromise his vision, and neither will Mythagowood, it seems.

Ummm, yeah, you might want to rethink that 'hey, someone should show these to the actors at a con!' idea.. Even if "I'm a guy and regardless of my sexual orientation, the only way I myself (or just about any other guy I know) would be insulted or angered by this particular type of manip would be if my dick was made to look VERY small."

I was kind of spooked by Japanese ball-jointed dolls but these are far scarier. Also NSFW due to naked doll penises and vaginas.

Not that they're poorly crafted... just terrifying. (I would also argue they are tasteless).

The curious case of Omar González (some images NSFW), a Spanish-language fanartist whose art seems to have been entirely copied (though perhaps not traced) from other fanartists. Ho hum. The more surprising part: he charged $25-$150 commissions for his work.

Let's see: we have Gene Simmons, Beast, Gambit, Wolverine, zombielike dude, hair-on-fire guy, Spaceman, dead cheerleader, hairy guy. And don't forget that he shopped his own jaw over John Barrowman's for the cover of his Harry Potter Lexicon Torchwood guide.

To be fair, he does have talent, but the narcissism is astounding, and those hairy arms are pretty bad.

About a year ago, Worth1000.com had a Photoshop contest for manipping celebrities into Renaissance portraits. Several are incredibly good, most are a bit WTF.

Jack Black is definitely my favorite.

So, the H/G hug picture from the HBP publicity shots?  You know, the one that shot to hell all of the arguments about how the lack of "visual canon" meant that H/G couldn't be real (never mind DH, because everyone knows that that bitch JKR hasn't a clue)?

Well, it seems that the Harry/Luna shippers have the first batch of manip fodder.  Can the Harmony version be far behind?

Gimps.de is "A WebSite for creative intellectuals." Specifically, for creative intellectuals who use the Gimp photoediting software and post bizarre photos and rambling, Babelfish-laden fics to go with them. They have a strange obsession with the magical power of short haircuts on women, some of whom are named for celebrities for no obvious reason.

The whole bizarre trainwreck is worth a browse, but for now I leave you with the tale of Baby Gift Flowers and its nightmare-inducing illustration.

1:19PM - For the Love of Obama

I hesitated to make this post, in fear of setting off political debate in this community, but surely art like this must be honoured for its own sake!

The Willamette Week made its election endorsements, including an endorsement of Obama for President. The article is very unremarkable, and understated. The illustration that accompanies it will sear your eyeballs. Just warning.

I'm pretty sure the picture is a joke, thank God.

3:53PM - Why should Harry Potter fans have all the fun?

And by fun I mean pain.

The Library of Moria, for those of you who have managed to avoid it until now, is an archive of slash about characters from Tolkien's works and actors from the LOTR films. (As far as I know, there are no stories in which actors from the films are paired with characters from the books. However, there is an angst-filled epic featuring Legolas and an orc as star-crossed lovers. Just to give you all an idea of the quality of fiction one finds there.)

It also has a section for fanart, which is full to the brim of mediocre drawings of Orlando Bloom, inadvertent femslash ("Well, the blonde chick is kind of cute, but the dark-haired girl seems to be having hormonal issues, what with all her facial hair - oh, wait, it's Legolas and Aragorn"), terribly photoshopped elvish pornography and everything else you'd expect from an archive full of high-quality fanart like this one.
