    FOB and Deftones stuff
Number 1, Fall Out Boy Folie a Deux Listening Party:

    fad listening party ad

And I would totally go, except that it would mean going out to a mall. *shudder* And just, no. Not now, not ever again if I can at all help it. I can wait a few days. I've got the iTunes version in my sights and the Deux Pre-Order pre-ordered. *bounce*

And now, a rant. So on the Alternative Music Channel (Music Choice) they keep playing Change (In the House of Flies) by the Deftones. Which I had heard before and enjoyed but now am seriously falling in love with. Naturally, I want it for my very own! So I go over to Amazon, because I had a positive experience with the download of a free Butch Walker song (which was the first BW song I'd heard and it was good). Also, DRM free. I do the search (god I hate Amazon's search engine results) and I find...multiple entries. Okay, now I have to try to determine which is which. And this is where I rant. WTF?! The LP version is listed at 4:59 mins on Amazon. Over on iTunes I can get the song in either a 5:16 min version or in a 4:58 min version. So. What. The. Fuck?! And none of them show as being on the White Pony album. *sigh* On Amazon the 'album' is listed as Change. On iTunes I can either get it off of a B-Sides and Rarities album or off of some soundtrack. On Amazon, Change is listed on the White Pony CD but there's no mp3 version of the album. On iTunes the White Pony album doesn't even include Change. WHAT THE FUCK?!

Look, I just want the song. You know? I love the song and I want it. I can't afford the whole album, and I'm not sure I'd enjoy it anyway because my enjoyment of Change is full of caveats and conditions as it is (lyrical issues), so I was going to just grab the song but now I don't know which version to get and I can't afford to buy all fucking three of them. *pouts* So I'm not sure what I'm going to do.

Off to find some cheese and crackers to go with my whine.

Etsy: Your place to buy and sell all things handmade
    TheOctopusGallery.etsy.com

This will probably be the end of the Etsy spamming since this is most of what I wanted to sell for the time being. If I actually get around to ever starting to draw again, then I'll add more.

I don't know if the flash will work on JF.

Well, I rather liked it. Though I'm sure it helped that we had Tonks in the row in front of us - she was awesome.

iSerenity Ambient Sounds Offer Soothing Background Noise - I really like the Roaring Ocean one.

How Axl Rose Spent All That Time - NYT Review, unsurprisingly not glowing. I liked this part of the article:
“Chinese Democracy” sounds like a loud last gasp from the reign of the indulged pop star: the kind of musician whose blockbuster early success could once assure loyal audiences, bountiful royalties, escalating ambitions and dangerously open-ended deadlines. The leaner, leakier 21st-century recording business is far less likely to nurture such erratic perfectionists. (snip) The new rock paradigm, a throwback to the 1950s and early 1960s, is to record faster, more cheaply and more often, then head out on tour before the next YouTube sensation distracts potential fans.

I've been thinking something along those lines for awhile now. I personally think that the superstar nonsense lead to all the crap music of the 90s. I'd rather see a return to working musicians. But that's me.

    Back to beta-ing!

Sure, you could use this interface to do all sorts of important things with like DNA or complex scientific whatevers. But me? I'd totally use this to reorganize my iTunes library. Holy christ is that shit out of control and it would be SO much easier to fix if I could just move the files around by hand.

Gerbil has been captured. Jason spotted him under one of the cupboards in the fish room and sunflower seeds lured him out. Interestingly, once he came out, he was more interested in seeing what I was doing on the floor than the sunflower seeds. I really need to pay more attention to the gerbs.

    Dear Simon Amstell,

I just watched four complete seasons of Never Mind the Buzzcocks, just to hear you talk.  I want to become a D-list celebrity, just so that you can mock me on your quiz show.  I love you (in a platonic way, because even if you were straight, I think that you would probably make a really neurotic significant other... but I kind of like that.... so I guess that now I'm sad that you are straight, since the possibility of our meeting and falling in love is so great in the first place... I have lost control of my ellipses).

PS - The haters are right, though.  It just isn't the same without Bill.  I miss your happy moptop, as well.

What could possibly be more inane than using your real name to write stupid shit you're embarrassed about on the internet and then deleting your LJ in a huff? Complaining to someone else about it, supposedly anonymously, and signing your "real" name to the comment.

    I'm dying here.

    Everybody knows Twilight is lame.

But guy who plays Edward is, like, totally cool because he hates Twlight.

So it's okay to fangirl guy who plays Edward. And stand in line for hours at the mall with a cattle band on your arm to get his autograph, because you hate Twilight, too. You're cool. Not like those other fans.

And, by extension, it's okay to get all het up over Twilight. In order to hate it. Because that's cool.

You should probably buy a t-shirt while you're there, so you can wear it ironically.

And go see the movie, because you'll be sooooooo annoying to the regular fangirls, with your coolness and your irony.

    Well, then...
Guess I don't have to decide whether or not to continue watching My Own Worst Enemy. (NBC Axes Worst Enemy)

That right there is why people aren't watching television as much anymore. What's the point of investing in a show when you aren't given a chance to get involved before the network decides to axe the program?

My Own Worst Enemy had potential. Sure I thought Henry was a whiney fucking tool, but the potential was still there. But NBC pulled the plug. Knight Rider, however, gets a second chance despite abysmal ratings. *sigh*

    Plants with spikes!
Went to my favorite garden store to get some cactus substrate and some bug spray for the citrus trees. Their perenials were all half off and they had a bunch of hens and chicks and sedums left. I have been wanting to convert the two hanging baskets into succulent baskets because of my chronic inability to remember to water them regularly. Soooooooooooo I now have a bunch of succulents. And it turns out that the recently ant-infested plant is also a succulent so I should probably get it out of that bucket of water PDQ.

Oh the joys of a gardening addiction. Much like fish, I seem to get into one sort of plant, learn as much as I can and try it out and then find a new Bright Shinny Object Plant. Of course, since we're heading into winter here, it' s not like I can do much outside stuff (although today I did raid the neighborhood pine trees for pine straw and used that to mulch the front bed. Yay free mulch!) or get more temperate carnivores going. So it makes sense to shift to houseplants.

    ANTS >>>:(

I thought the ants were just coming in from outside. I then though that maybe they were still in the tangerine pot. I then discovered that they had also invaded the pot next to the tangerine tree. I fed many, many ants to fish tonight and I doubt I got all of them. The pot in question is currently outside soaking in a bucket of water. I figure that the ants will drown before the plant does.

Also, anyone know of a citrus mealybug farming ant that smells like rotting oranges when you crush them besides citronella ants? These arent' big and yellow so they're something else.
