The HMS STFU - Badfic
|
| Fenrir entered the baby’s nursery, clad in only his boxers. He yawned as he motioned for Harry to give him their daughter. Harry did and the alpha bounced in his steps to soothe Rhea, shushing her. “Hey, honey. Are you being bad for your mummy?” Harry scowled, rubbing the sleep out of his eyes. “I told you to stop calling me that, Fenrir.”
Wait....Harry and Fenrir Greyback? WTF? Seriously? Why? What posessed the author to think this was a good pairing? And then to do MPreg with it? It's mind boggling.
This fandom will seriously ship anyone with anyone no matter how bizarre said pairing is. What's more, they will then argue about all the "evidence" they find to support their pairing. I'm sure the Harry/Greyback people are no different, but I really want to think it's just a joke. Alas, even this gets good reviews in the Pit. | | (Reply to this) (Thread) |
| | That was my first thought as well. The rest was just too horrifying to contemplate. I especially loved the last one of Ginny running away. How perfect was that? :D | | (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread) |
| | I like Lucius's "Is that so?" look and that great GIF of Jemaine getting down and dirty. They both made me laugh even out of context, so when I got around to reading the snippets that inspired their use, I was rolling. | | (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread) |
| The Greyback poem is supposed to be horrifying, though, right?
I once made up an Ariel Potter, but she was Harry's twin sister.
I laughed a lot at Worlds Collide. AND THEN THEY PUNCHED HER THREE TIMES IN THE FACE AND KICKED HER IN THE RIBS AND THREW HER INTO THE CUPBOARD.
“This will be strange Tom. Can you handle a baby girl? This has to be the ultimate strength challenge.” Then he fell asleep in his large comfy bed. BRB, loling IRL. | | (Reply to this) (Thread) |

| Did the Worlds Collide one actually have a girl who was still named Harry, or am I not reading it right?
Personally, the whole "talking book/bottoming" one sent me into hysterics. But I find bad sex scenes funny. | | (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread) |
| | "The ultimate strength challenge"? I thought the ultimate strength challenge was those competitions on ESPN where they throw telephone poles and pull trucks with their teeth and stuff. | | (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread) |
| Best line ever in a fanfic:
"Teachers are people, too. If you prick us, do we not bleed? If you suck us, do we not come?" | | (Reply to this) (Thread) |
| WAT D:
I'm just going to quietly go lie down and pretend I never saw a fic featuring Fenrir/HP.

| | You can pretend all you want, but deep down you will always know that it's out there...lurking... | | (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread) |
| | I knew. I mean the minute he appeared in HBP, it was inevitable some fuckwit would fluffify him. | | (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread) |
| I loved this post by vaudree on Leaky Lounge:
We never learn how Greyback was turned - only his anger towards wizards, that he prefers, not just witches but beautiful witches - to defoul that which is beautiful because beauty is denied him - that he gets off on watching witches get torture and has no true loyalty to anyone. That Greyback likes them young because it gives him more control over the turned werewolf - to become their only family - to make them see the wizards as more of an enemy than the person who turned them (which JKR probably got from her knowledge of how child soldiers are recruited).
I wonder if Greyback was turned very young and then rejected by his parents - or whether he was older and had a chance to have friends (as well parents) and possiblily even a beautiful girlfriend before it was all ripped from him. His anger had to come from somewhere. Lupin faced a lot of rejection in his life, but he was never rejected by his parents and (when they found out) by his friends. This makes Lupin luckier than the recently turned werewolf in the bed beside Arthur who has no visitors. Greyback seems to delight too much in the pain of his victims - it taking beauty from the beautiful, in causing pain - to be happy with what was done to him. It is almost as if he wants as many wizards as possible to hurt as much as he has been hurt - that Greyback deals with what has been denied his heart by having the beautiful become scarred, and the loved become rejected - to the point that any pain in those more privileged than himself becomes pleasurable.
Because Greyback's anger over being rejected was too great, it overrode compassion - compassion would have fed the heart something. Greyback's heart was starved of substenanse because he was victimized - because he was turned - which would have been a very traumatic experience to begin with. Because Greyback could not get past the hurt, his heart starved - or Greyback could not get past the hurt because his heart was starving and his screams to be loved went unanswered.
He couldn't think at school couldn't take the pain He cried out for love but no one came Just the sound of thunder like a hammer on a drum
Where is this love that will open the doors? Where is this love to make me cry out for more? Where is this love that comes from above? Where is this love?
He'd shiver like a runaway in the wind when the day turned grey With the fear of night He just keeps on running through the driving rain.
See, Fenrir is not a creepy psychopath, who behaves like a beast even in human form. He is a woobie, who just wanted to be loved! | | (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread) |
| I think a distinction needs to be made (which these strange-fen are not doing) between the acts and thoughts that would have diverted a person from doing atrocious things, and the fact that once they've done these atrocious things, it's not as simple as making them a woobie.

| We never learn how Greyback was turned - only his anger towards wizards...
Who gives a shit? Seriously, was JKR supposed to provide full biographical backgrounds for every single fucking character, no matter how minor? The fact that he was an asshole who liked to maul children was really all we needed to know about him. Make up shit about him if you want, that's what fanfic is for, but don't complain that you were somehow denied this precious information by the big bad, uncaring author.
I think the need to woobify bad characters says a lot about the person doing it. I wonder if vaudree, Malfoy apologists, and the Snape brigade are among those crazy women who send love letters to serial killers in prison. | | (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread) |
| I wonder if vaudree, Malfoy apologists, and the Snape brigade are among those crazy women who send love letters to serial killers in prison.
No, they usually accuse the Marauders' fans of approving of serial killers. See, for example, this exchange:
vaudree Sure, do you have any quotes you would like to share? :evilgrin James, according to Black’s own testimony, engaged in duplicity. James told Lily that he had given up bullying yet still continued to bully at least one person behind Lily’s back. Maybe the risk did make it fun, but doesn’t make James the kind of guy we would like our daughters to marry.
wickedboy My daughter could marry the dude just fine.
vaudree I will withhold any katty reference to the fact that Paul Bernardo is now single, because I presume your daughter has better taste in men than her father. There are plenty of good men out there, she doesn’t have to settle.
“(O)nce I heard of a woman saying the hardest thing about men I ever heard – and she was an ardent suffragist too. She said that what was wrong with the women in England was that they were too particular – that’s why they were not married, ‘and,’ she went on, ‘any person can tell, when they look around at men in general, that God never intended women to be very particular.’ I am glad I never said anything as hard as that about men.” – Nellie McClung, p. 39, 1915
In reference to murderer Paul Bernardo, being able to present a polite respectable image may impress one’s grandmother, but images can be deceiving.
Azkaban's_Angel This reference(or should that be non-reference? As you chose to "withhold" it) doesn't seem a wee bit dramatic, exaggeratory, not to mention inappropriate to you?
Seriously, how does someone suggesting that they wouldn't consider James an inappropriate partner for their daughter equate in any way, shape or form to them approving of a notorious serial killing rapist? | | (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread) |
| | Where would Snape defenders be without hyperbole, straw men, and extreme exaggeration? Nothing vaudree said in that thread made any sense at all. | | (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread) |
