The HMS STFU -
|
| There was some turd of a reader who said she was going to do each of my earlier challenges but make them RHr. She absolutely has my blessing. If she wants to make a fool of herself by sailing on a ship made of emotional abuse, that's fine - I'm sure she'll find her own verbally abusive spirit-crushing boyfriend one day. Stay classy pstibbons. | | (Reply to this) (Thread) |

| | Remember, this is the guy who thinks Draco is more suited to her than Ron. | | (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread) |
| Am I the only one who finds the fact that a guy who tortures a fictional character and admits to enjoying it thinking he's got room to talk about someone else being abusive to be hilarious?
It's even funnier when you consider that he ships her with DRACO. | | (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread) |

| Being the "turd of a reader" (who totally needs to find her HP books so she can start working on the challenges with RHr), I just want to thank you guys for realizing pstibbons' stupidity and sticking up for me. It's a nice pick-me-up after dealing with him.

| I got another crazy review from her (him?) today.
I've just skipped ahead a few chapters to check something - what frigging kind of story is this? It's not HHr, so stop marking it as such. Feel free to write whatever ship you want, but stop insulting those of us who know that RHr is only written by people (Jo included) who believe that smart women should be shackled to abusive insensitive and insecure gits. You should add a RHr warning in your summary.
R/Hr is now a WARNING? I suppose if you think it's on par with rape, incest, torture, etc... which pstibbons apparently does.
| | (Reply to this) (Thread) |
| | Considering he thinks Draco Malfoy is a better match for her, when said character is the very DEFINITION of insecure and insensitive (not to mention far more prone to jealousy than Ron), that's actually kind of funny. | | (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread) |

Ya know, he's right. I'm going to dump my husband and find myself an abusive, insensitive, and insecure git.
Wonder if pstibbons is available? | | (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread) |

| | I have seen a well written one shot with a similar premise to the "Marriage Law Assassin" challenge written by Viridian (S'TarKan on fanfiction.net). Of course Viridian is just a great writer all around. | | (Reply to this) (Thread) |
| Oh, and in every chapter Dean must compare Hermione (or part thereof) to a piece of clothing or appliance
An appliance? o.O
Hermione, today, I decided that you looked so amazingly pretty to me. You take my breath away, just like this toaster and the way that it browns my toast perfectly.
Hermione, you're smarter than anyone I know, just like that coffeemaker you insisted on purchasing that I can't run even if I just want a simple cup of regular coffee. | | (Reply to this) (Thread) |
| A pity his "challanges" don't include a BSG crossover.
Dean: Hermione you look like a frakking toaster. Hermione: Pstibbons has lost it. All: So say we all. | | (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread) |
| Comparing her to clothing is kind of weird too.. Oh Hermione, you're just as cute as my fuzzy pink woollen socks... | | (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread) |
| I knew the name sounded familiar- Once upon a time I reviewed one of their little ... pieces with concrit and a little incredulity. I got a "yawn" for a response.
Then, probably more than a month later I got a much more creative and provocative reply. I guess they forgot they'd already expressed disinterest in my opinion and decided to try and goad me into a flame war. Hm, where is that? Ah, here it is:
You do realize, of course, that you a disgusting little cockroach with the intelligence of a stunned and vaguely demented herring?
Doesn't that just scream "I don't do this for attention!" ? | | (Reply to this) (Thread) |
| | How would one know if a herring was demented at all, let alone just "vaguely" demented? As an insult, that just doesn't work. Saying someone is as dumb as a stunned herring suffices all on it's own. | | (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread) |
| *sigh* Just when I thought I'd have a mundane day on JournalFen. Heh.
I wonder if we can enroll pstibbons in a Batshit Anonymous support group. Then again it might just reinforce his weirdness. | | (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread) |

| | Well, the Golden Bubotubers are coming up. Pstibbons should win "most ooc character - female" for the Yule Ball story. | | (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread) |
| He did the same thing to me. A few repetitions of things like "yawn" and "you are a fool", and then suddenly, over a month after I'd last reviewed anything of his, out of the blue came this:
"Did I mention that your bowels are filled with jello and your head is full of shit?"
Rapidly followed with another "you are a fool", presumably to round things off. Wow, I guess he must really miss reviews, even negative ones. Poor bloke needs his daily affirmation that he actually exists from somewhere I suppose. | | (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread) |
| | But he doesn't mind all those bad reviews at all, right? He's so far above it all and just laughs at all the gorram heronistas. Right? | | (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread) |
| The Spartacus challenge now has me re-imagining The Seven Potters with everybody saying I am Hermione!. And then they all get crucified.
I think it might have something to do with my migraine medication. | | (Reply to this) (Thread) |
| Revenge of the Non-Prefect
When Hermione is not made a prefect in fifth year, she is seriously pissed. But she soon realizes the opportunities this presents! She knows that if she's expelled, she can always take OWLs and NEWTs by herself... well then. Time to offer her services to Fred and George and make the Marauders look like small-time kitten-rustlers. Hogwarts : A Prank History is about to receive a brand new chapter. Several, in fact. For bonus points, make it Fred/Hermione/George - and that's a threesome, not a triangle. Double bonus points for Hermione joining the twins' Great Escape without having to touch a broomstick.
Yeah, that totally sounds like Hermione. Totally. | | (Reply to this) (Thread) |
| Hermione??? Trying to get expelled??? In what universe?? I can see her getting ticked if she wasn't made a prefect - but leaving school would not occur to her - particularly not that that point. | | (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread) |
| Hermione??? Trying to get expelled??? In what universe??
Only in the "Grangerverse", my friend. Only in the "Grangerverse". Where Hermione "Jane" is Harry's tracksuit wearing "frontkick" and any day that involves Ron-rape is a happy one. | | (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread) |
| Now if she was frontkicking Snape, I'd be breaking out the popcorn 'cause how dare she frontkick that woobie Snape in the you-know-where.
:P
| | (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread) |
| | It would be fabulous to witness a flamewar between him and the Snapedom. That would be some epic wank. Too bad he's so sympathetic toward Snape. | | (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread) |

| Spartacus
In an AU where the Purebloods rule, Muggleborn children are stolen from their parents and raised to serve those more worthy - as servants, whores, labourers... and gladiators. Hermione is one such gladiator, and leads - or helps lead - a courageous rebellion. Your call as to the level of its success.
Wouldn't that end with her getting crucified?
The Veil wasn't a Portal to Netu.
Well, thanks for stating the obvious.
Dean and Hermione are together. Her parents aren't thrilled about Dean's ethnicity, and his mother isn't thrilled about Hermione being a white girl. And her old friends aren't thrilled that she's not dating either Harry or Ron. Dean has a magical ability that has to do with his drawing prowess. Oh, and in every chapter Dean must compare Hermione (or part thereof) to a piece of clothing or appliance. For bonus points, they start dating while in Hogwarts.
This sounds a lot like Something New, only that movie rocked and this fic would not.
Lily discovers during her seventh year that there is a charm on the Head Students' Lounge to ensure that the two occupants fall in love with each other. The story must end Lily/Severus. Your call as to whether you want to make the charm cast by Dumbledore, Sirius, James or someone else.
That's pretty awesome because Lily started dating James in their seventh year so the premise MAKES NO SENSE.
The Marauders still attack him, Lily still worries for his Dark leanings, but Dumbledore and other teachers are less likely to give him up as a lost cause. Must end up Lily/Severus.
When did they ever give him up as a lost cause? Oh, right, this is Snapefen, where Snape is persecuted by everyone.
Another Voldemort-Won fic, probably best written as a tragic oneshot. The British Muggle Elite loved fox hunting. Thing about fox hunting is, the fox never won. The British Magical Elite also love hunting where the prey never wins. And this prey has two legs.
This prey is... THE MOST DANGEROUS GAME

| I just went to pstibbons's userinfo for the first time.
That was a mistake. | | (Reply to this) (Thread) |
| Does that thing ever end? Who needs that many recs in one profile?
And the Ron-hate, it is baffling. How much emotion can you invest in one fictional person? | | (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread) |

Which I also don't understand. Does this make me a bad fan? According to pstibbons, I'm already stupid and barbaric. | | (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread) |

| | To be honest, I don't either. I love quite a few fictional characters, mostly because I either identify with them or find them interesting, but I don't get loving them in that way. | | (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread) |
| I've never understood it. And the more I hear about pstibbons on here the more I realize that some of the "Ron-bashing" fics out there go to implausible lengths to get Ron out of the way so that their "real hero" (be it Harry, Draco, Hermione, whoever) can shine.
Ok, I get that Ron does dumb things. But as angakkuq's discussion on HMS STFU points out, JKR has taken pains to show how a truly insecure racist moronic git like Draco Malfoy would react, compared to how Ron reacts. And Ron's just slightly insecure. Not a whiny racist little prat.
