| About: | Are you bored with your DVD collection? Looking for an interesting new book? Wish you had a group of fellow fans with good taste to point you in the direction of entertaining and shiny new media?
Well, you do now!
In short, this community is for recommendations-- those seeking recs, those providing recs-- for any kind of published media. Books, video games, movies, TV shows, music, etc. Pretty much anything but fanworks. (That rule may change if there's sufficient interest in that direction, but I'd rather not see the comm overwhelmed by requests for specific fandom fanfic/ship/art/vid recs-- there are a lot of other venues for that.)
We're not fantasy/SF/spec-fic-genre-specific here in the Rec Room. Feel free to ask about chick lit books, classic movies, first person shooter games-- whatever interests you, there's probably someone on JF who can steer you toward something good. We're also looking for people who are knowledgeable about a specific genre and willing to write a guide for this comm about it.
