Another One Bites the Dust...
Fametracker, one of TWoP's sister sites, is closing their forums in a few weeks...

We have some bad news to share.

The Fametracker forums will be closing soon.

After a strong start to our OODT program, support petered out and is not covering our growing costs of running the forums. A small group of hardcore donors helped us after the first month or two went by but traffic is growing much faster than support (which has shrunk).

We like to thank everyone who bought an OODT in the past and kept the forums going as long as they did. Our forum fund stop covering costs a little while ago but we've got enough juice to go until mid-March. I'm going to place the official closing for Monday, March 14 but it might go a day in either way depending on circumstances.

I will start a thread in Bugs/Feedback where you can chat about where to chat moving forward.

Fametracker will continue to publish its regular fare and will add some new features and sections in the coming months.

Thanks again to all our forum-goers for the smart, funny and nasty posts over the years!

Ah, the hypocrisy of breaking their own forum rules.

Hehehe. This makes me extremely gleeful because it may mean that TWoP is next. I enjoy some of the recaps, but I'd be willing to give them up in order to watch the forums/site implode.

	I doubt the TWoP forums will close, since they've got a corporate partnership with Yahoo whereas Fametracker is supported almost entirely by their webstore sales. It is fun watching the FT users moaning and wailing, however. (Reply to this)(Thread)

Normally our sites threaten to shut down every 18 months or so, but because we have enough newbie fans who give us their cash, we 'manage' to stay open. However, we've decided to not bother in this case. Because this is really your fault. We provide a free place for people to diss celebrities, and you didn't pony up the dough. So."
