Oh boy
The boards have been going crazy the past few days, ever since the finale of the Apprentice. In case you haven't seen it, Randal (a black man, widely considered to have done the best job overall) was hired, and almost directly after that, Trump asked him if the runner-up, Rebecca (a white woman) should be hired as well. Randal said no, "It's the Apprentice, not the Apprenti," or wtte. Trump said okay then, and then the show ended because this all took place at like 10:58.

Over on the episode thread, a lot of people are complaining about Randal's decision, and saying they lost all respect for him.

On Randal's specific thread we get more of the same, with the bonus of some MsAlli posts. At one point she says Randal's act was "Maybe the lowest and most indefensible thing I've ever seen on reality TV, and I've watched a lot of reality TV."

And then we have the Race and the Apprentice thread and the General Ethnicity and TV thread, who see things completely different, and do a lot of meta talk. Harsh all around.

Not really twop crit, but I figured it went better here than on f_w.

You mean like this from just an hour ago?

What did Sephora come up with for her? She really needs the hair done as well, and a decent bra. She does have nice features (which I found out when I magnified her to the max to edit) and the lashes brought out her coloring well.

Yes, in her posts in the MM's she almost seems like she has no "girlfriends" (again, what a shock!) who will just be honest with her and help her out, the way mine do with me, and probably most of us have.) I don't know, as much as I detest her actions, I do feel bad that she feels so bad about her looks, when the "fixes" are so simple.

I think it's a bit like when hair-stylists look at my hair and want to CUT! (I know it's not a good style for me, but I WANT it long, and I don't give a shit anymore, and really don't care!) but their fingers are just itching to get in there. The only difference is I know it and DON'T care, she knows it, AND DOES.

I don't pretend to be perfect here. I tried to buy this black and white geometric print poncho style blouse recently when it was 110 degrees and I had to go to an outdoor graduation. My friend was with me and said, "No." I persisted. She said it made me look like a house. I still persisted. (I can't stand heat, and it was so breezy! She took it from my hands and said it made me look like I was a grandmother with no fashion sense and weighed twice as much as I do, and I would buy it over her dead body. I relented.

Sometimes, you just need a girlfriend. Pictures were taken at that event! AND sent all over the danged place. Thank God for girlfriends!

Translation:
Miss Alli's hair is ugly.
Miss Alli's boobs sag.
Miss Alli has no friends.
I am a good and honest person so I will be her friend even though she doesn't deserve it.
My hair is long and luxurious.
I am perfect, but I am also modest so I would never say so.
I am so petite that I can be outweighed by a mere blouse.
I have friends. Miss Alli has no friends.
There are ugly pictures of Miss Alli all over the internet. Ha Ha Ha Ha! I mean, I feel so bad for her.

I thought the post recommended a haircut and a bra. Seriously, they're just some hair & dress recommendations.

Unsolicited advice regarding personal appearance from a complete stranger is in bad taste at best, and downright rude at worst.

woodstove here.

My hair is not long and luxurious, it's long, but too fine to be long, and needs a cut.
I am not petite.
That blouse looked like shit on me.
I love my girlfriends, and I did look like a house in it, and I am glad I didn't buy it, and if not for her, I would have.

The difference between Alki and me is that I don't have the self-esteem, (or get a man) issues that she does, (per her words, not my conjecture.) I don't give a crap that my hair would look tons better if I cut it. My ego is fine with crappy looking hair. Hers is NOT. My ego couldn't have handled "looking like a house" in that horrid blouse, so I am glad my friend stepped in and stopped me.

I can't STAND Alki's actions, and I have, and WILL criticize them, but I HAVE NEVER attacked her looks, and I never will, because I hate that shit. I DID photo-shop her because I was bored, and because she DOES cry out for help all the time. As far as her not "asking" for it? Excuse me, but I am one of those posters on TWoP, so, yeah. She DID. Sometimes directly, more often, indirectly, "I wish I knew how to ...." over and over again, and the whining about how insecure she is with more "I just never know what to wear...." and all the "poor me" crap. The first photo I did changed almost nothing about her. A bit of mascara, a different hairstyle, a different top, darker jeans, and a bra that fit. It wasn't mean spirited in anyway.

If you want to believe it was, then go ahead.

Honestly, I just think it's What Not to Wear syndrome, where everyone becomes a fashion expert and trys to diagnose everyone's style foibles. It's not my type of thing, but I don't think there was any sort of ill will intened.

I could believe that woodstove meant well if she hadn't posted rant after rant after rant about MA already. She hates MA, I find it hard to believe that she wants to help her in any way.

woodstove one more time

Some of us can hold more than one thought or feeling in our heads at one time. For example, I can detest someone's actions, and still feel bad that they are an insecure mess about how they look, when they could easily fix that with a few, very simple hair, make up, or clothing choices. Others (apparently) must either love or hate every single thing about someone. No middle ground, or shades of grey at all.
