Oh boy
The boards have been going crazy the past few days, ever since the finale of the Apprentice. In case you haven't seen it, Randal (a black man, widely considered to have done the best job overall) was hired, and almost directly after that, Trump asked him if the runner-up, Rebecca (a white woman) should be hired as well. Randal said no, "It's the Apprentice, not the Apprenti," or wtte. Trump said okay then, and then the show ended because this all took place at like 10:58.

Over on the episode thread, a lot of people are complaining about Randal's decision, and saying they lost all respect for him.

On Randal's specific thread we get more of the same, with the bonus of some MsAlli posts. At one point she says Randal's act was "Maybe the lowest and most indefensible thing I've ever seen on reality TV, and I've watched a lot of reality TV."

And then we have the Race and the Apprentice thread and the General Ethnicity and TV thread, who see things completely different, and do a lot of meta talk. Harsh all around.

Not really twop crit, but I figured it went better here than on f_w.

What if you're on a message board about the news, but you personally find the news boring? Should you start discussing your Uncle Frank's stinky socks? If you're on a message board about a TV show, should you start talking about how your refridgerator broke? You can, but it's rude and a little irritating.

But we're not talking about that, are we? No one has posted a message that had nothing to do with TWoP. Even the TWoP Sucks criticisms, while tangenital to the discussion at hand, still relate to the subject at hand.

Here's what we've had so far on TWoP_Crit:

1) Posts having to do with the Apprentice topic
2) Posts having to do with TWoP_Sucks
3) Posts responding to one of the two above subjects
4) Overly meta posts like this one, and yours, and my original one up there.

If you want clarification, then no: I don't think that it's appropriate for people to talk about stinky socks, or their refrigerator, or what their parakeet thinks of the latest singer on reality TV. I'm sure that I could have expressed my original thoughts better, and I'm sorry if it led to any confusion. However, the comments being bitched about here flowed pretty naturally from the original topic.

Of course, Deeablo may think differently, and if so, I apologize for going so far off-track.

But again: Nothing is keeping you from discussing the original topic, and ignoring the still-relevant tangents that people are going off on.
