some blather
Why are there now recaps for old episodes of "The Office" but they felt "Doctor Who" was being watched out of sequence and consequently not worth it?

And also, it's a personal complaint but I can't really make it over There so here it goes. I like the "Motivations" thread (here) and flick through it while other tabs are loading, but it's entirely too full of 'Supernatural' and 'Heroes'. If I see another picture of Sylar or the tossing Wincest Brothers anywhere ever again I will go axe-happy. They are not awse. Maybe it's annoying because there are hardly any decent Fun threads around and it bugs me to see one of them turned into a Jensen Ackles fanclub.

(nb: this is naturally OT and for my Own Blog but eh, I'm all hopped up on ice-cream and also Your Mod, maybe have an Any Opinions On Anything On TV Or TV Blogging week?)

Because they are evil?

Okay, I don't know.

When did Sares' TN site go into such an ugly site, anyway? At least it was last time I could bother to go look at it.

This has been happening for years on TWoP. The last time I still hung out there regularly, I quit posting in the show threads and hung out solely in the basement, and judging by the Pixel Challenges and whatnot you'd think there were only four shows on TV: Veronica Mars, and stuff by Joss Whedon. I like the Whedonverse well enough but dammit people give it a rest already.

It seems like the crazy fen in whatever fandom take over the site for a little while, until they're displaced by whatever the next hot new crazy fandom is. Just par for the course over there.

It definitely goes in cycles. I just particularly noticed this one, because half of LJ and my best friend have been trying to sell the Supernatural "hotties" to me for ages.

I dunno, why did they finally decide Farscape was worth recapping, like 5 years after people were begging for them to recap it (and they said something along the lines of, "Aussie TV? Bleh.")

Word on the "Supernatural"/"Heroes" overload.

Arrogance, plus a lack of taste? Just a thought.

Basically, they kept winning the Tubey's Kids auctions

And quite handily too. There was a core group that bid and was able to win half the time, enough to scare away a few more casual groups. Basically someone took charge and organized things off site, and kept things private. They were on the fence about recapping it for years. I think part of the problem was that they weren't sure how to handle the show.

Incidentally, the person who led the Farscape bidding is now one of the forum moderators.

Who's doing recaps for The Office? And are they recaps or "wee-caps"? I was going to start watching and recaps would be nice.

The Office recaps are being done by Miz Allie, with one early one done for charity by Jacob. They're called weecaps but they don't seem particularly short for the length of the show.

Ewww, no, I will not be reading anything by Miss Alli. If I wanted to be annoyed I would just poke myself in the eye repeatedly.

Remember when they said they would NEVER do half-hour comedies? Ah, this is what happens when you now work for The Man (NBC via Bravo). They added 21 new shows.
We've expanded our coverage to include a gaggle of the latest entries, both network and cable; we've also added some old favorites -- including top-rated sitcoms like The Office, which you'll find on our show menu already -- in response to popular demand. Twenty-one, people. Blackjack. Can't beat it.
They also have a new layout - they look like every other media outlet but especially E!Online.

I bet they added comedies because so many of their picks last year didn't get renewed :D

The layout is hideous. They havbe a yellow strip across the top that doesn't scale for lower resolutions, and they got rid of the cute pictures on the recap headers. Even with a good banner-blocker in place, it's still almost unreadable.

I wonder if they'll start being extra-sweet to NBC shows?

I really am trying not to be a hater, but... this is some old bull. I'm all for upgrading and becoming the best site you can be, but this is just getting ugly. The whole point of not recapping comedies is because these are supposed to be funny recaps of shows. Some of the best recaps are when the laughs come from something unintentionally funny. What's next? Sitcoms? "And then the audience laughs, they were good to do that, that was a funny moment."

And the front page does look like E! online, though it reminds me more of TV Gasm in nature. I'm telling, screencaps are not far away.

Actually, it's kind of starting to look like a blog. Heh.

Sars seems to be pushing old Girls' Bike Club CDs- and she has moved up the announcement that she is selling them several times (so that it will appear in the top three or four entries). Methinks someone is having trouble selling her wares.
