I think one of my favorite Metafilter moments came when someone asked a question about how to cultivate a sort of "be able to build anything/solve any weird problem at a moment's notice" mindset, and he titled his question "Help me be like Adam Savage when I grow up."

And...Adam actually answered it. At length.

The guy then said "I feel like I just got a bass lesson from Les Claypool."
