I'll go with a poor grasp of history + a nice bit of victim blaming and a massive dose of "Saint Sevvy is NEVER IN THE WRONG OMG!!!".

Tangently, I've got all sorts of family that were on several sides of the war ... and some of the shit they told me, well, someone's wearing Sevvy tinted glasses.
