IKR! I mean if someone is really bothered by racist, offensive shit in a work that hits them personally, and every time someone wants to discuss how actually problematic it is, they are flooded with five billion comments about how offensive it is to GENERALIZE about the poor oppressed fans of that work, and how IMPORTANT it is to instead discuss how they're all actually wonderful people and the work of fiction has so many redeeming qualities and it's so cute, how dare they then get kind of sick of that fandom in general and say so! It is their responsibility to reassure each individual fan that wasn't actually spouting slurs or anything that they are Not Racist and Good People, and never ever generalize out of frustration. It is the responsibility of POC to be nice and make sure every fan of anything problematic feels individually honored and respected.
Next we should find anyone with disabilities who got fed up and angry and dared to generalize about Amanda Palmer's fanbase when they only wanted to talk about how amazing Amanda was, and spam them with Eveyln Eveyln icons, so they learn not to do such a terrible insulting thing!
Also, every time someone talks about how horrified they are of HP fandom/furry fandom/some other wanky-as-hell fandom and want to avoid the hell out of people in it now, we're all going to mob them so they learn to very carefully say it's only specific fans in those fandoms that are wanky, and give lots of praise and hugs and asspats to each the tons of Good Ones and tell them how nonwanky they are, right? No?
