One word: Hetalia.
A warning beforehand: This wank is a desert landscape of triggers.

Oh, my god.

Oh, my god.

Oh, my fucking god.

Translation: User palereverie posts in hetalia_wank, victim-blaming, trolling, and generally spewing massive, triggery bile all over the place. Massive wank occurs. Palereverie is banned for their conduct by mod kiokushitakaa ... for two weeks, because there's a three strikes rule, and everyone deserves a second chance! Response is so negative kiokushitakaa steps down as mod, but not before issuing a Heidipology to end Heidipologies.

ETA: "All the times I insulted you? Don't take it personally. I don't even know who most of you are. Even if you logged in, I still don't know who you are. It's not a personal attack. I was just being cynical and/or my own perception of humorous. I do not notice when things shift in atmosphere at all, and hadn't realized that the conversation had turned serious. I thought it was still just trolling around, so I continued."

palereveries is permabanned.

Pantsu volunteers to mod.

The troll actually reminds me of Izzanami and co., actually, since they all appear to aspire to newer heights of cramming so many slurs into a single sentence that it loses all meaning. What's the point? Is there one?

I agree that kiokushitakaa snatched the trophy of batshit right out of palereverie's hands, though. It's... something.

And IIRC both this one and Izzanami use the "what, it's fine on 4chan" response and think /b/ is the greatest thing in the world. So I'm betting that's where they're getting it from.

I don't frequent 4chan much, but somehow I doubt they'd be welcome in /b/.

This reminded me of them, too, especially the attitude palereverie seems to have that the whole Internet ought to conform to 4chan standards. Izzanami/Ravyn/Jinx were very big on insisting that their behavior was okay on LiveJournal since it was okay on 4chan. I tried explaining to them once that LiveJournal hopefully has higher standards and that they were, so to speak, coming to a fancy restaurant with their McDonald's behavior and then wondering why people were upset with them eating like a pig and talking with their mouths full. They didn't get it. I don't think palereverie gets it, either.

I think the point is to be edgy and cool. A lot of people seem to think that the way you make waves and change the world is to be as offensive as humanly possible. Yeah, you make waves, but they're the wrong kind of waves.

You mean the media lies to young people?
(To get them to buy stuff?)

I mean it's one thing to conform to 4chan standards - and we'd have to talk about which board of 4chan; idiots who jump in with random insults get dogpiled on most boards. (Or maybe that's because I hang out on /adv/ and always end up linked to /m/.)

Whoops cut myself off there.

Also with 4chan, you don't know who you're talking to, so people can easily walk away. Whereas with LJ I don't think they realize that yes, they are in a conversation with someone and no, people don't forget they're idiots.

By extending that logic a little, I can make public copulation and defecation perfectly acceptable behavior IRL, because of more or less the same reason.

Which is perfectly fine! Please go ahead and do that. You go on. Shine on, crazy diamond. I'll just be here, cheering you on and calling the cops. What? No, no. Carry on, I'll be here.
