Scott Adams says something misogynist; news at 11

Scott Adams thinks rape is a natural instinct of men, and that asking them not to rape is oppressive. Seriously:

If a lion and a zebra show up at the same watering hole, and the lion kills the zebra, whose fault is that? Maybe you say the lion is at fault for doing the killing. Maybe you say the zebra should have chosen a safer watering hole. But in the end, you probably conclude that both animals acted according to their natures, so no one is to blame...

The part that interests me is that society is organized in such a way that the natural instincts of men are shameful and criminal while the natural instincts of women are mostly legal and acceptable. In other words, men are born as round pegs in a society full of square holes. Whose fault is that? Do you blame the baby who didn’t ask to be born male? Or do you blame the society that brought him into the world, all round-pegged and turgid, and said, “Here’s your square hole”?

Won't someone think of the poor, erect penises? How will they exercise their God-given right to have a hole to occupy, if the person attached to the hole is allowed to say "no"?

I don't know why Adams and his ev-psych friends think they're such iconoclasts. Their belief that that men are naturally rapists meshes quite nicely with the strawman "feminazi" belief that all heterosexual sex is rape and all men want to dominate and hurt women.

Back during Scott Adams' last kerfluffle, I said something about how maybe that had been his Dave Sim turning point. Looks like I was right.

lessee, he's pulled the Social Experiment card, the "intelligent people know what I meant" card, and the "lol j/k" card... what's left? I doubt he'll ever play the "you can't hit me I'm disabled" card, because that's a tactical nuke right there.

Although I can picture, if he ever finds himself backed into a massive career-killing corner, him coming up with the "I had to reteach myself how to speak, and now these Horrible Wimmens want to silence me!" post.

why does this guy hate women so much? I don't get it. What on earth did we do to him, besides deny him his god-given right to have sex with us whenever he pleases?

Some of us didn't laugh at his jokes? That seems to be the real kicker for these types.

. . . is this guy actually arguing that no-one should ever be blamed or held accountable for anything? Because the woman who smothers her baby is no less acting under her natural instincts than the man who rapes a woman; nor is the man who shoots the president, or his classmates, or his wife.

The point of society is that, when other people's natural instincts lead them to doing something that's gonna hurt us or the people we care for,* we make it dangerous to do that thing.

And is Adam Carrano someone well-known as well? He's showing up in the comments and being a bit of a douchecanoe. Although he seems to be better than Adams in that he seems to regard his instincts as things which should only be acted out in the context of a sane, consentual relationship.
