Heartbreak & Heroines
Kynn created a RPG called Heartbreak & Heroines, and used Kickstarter to get $3000 in funding in 48 hours. Over on LJ, Jack posted his response to his ex's success, in two minds because he's glad someone he knows did something cool, Kynn raped him. A couple days later, alexandraerin posts as well, expressing dismay at Kynn's behavior.

Jack posts Tweets from Kynn and later, emails,. At some point, the Kickstart for the RPG is canceled.

Some responses are laudable. Others, not so much.

ETA: Kynn tried to get a new name on RPG post-ban.

ETA2: Elf has a post about it.

ETA3: Kynn denies the rape happened.

Or she knew and didn't care. That would be prototypical rapist behaviour and, in my experience, is how these things play out. Knew it was unwanted behaviour, found amusement and/or pleasure in someone else's discomfort or suffering, believed the behaviour was okay because access to another's body was "owed," etc. Or so goes the list of reasons my abusers presented me with, save the part about, you know, "I'm getting off on your fear."

(I also think this is what people -- i.e., [info]sparkymonster -- is trying hard not to process/deal with, because if you accept that what happened to Jack did, in fact, happen, then you're left with the usual explanations of behaviour on the part of rapists. They are not comforting thoughts. People who know Kynn seem to not want to go there because, again, But she's a good person, really! She can change!)

That's strikingly familiar.

I think I need to go step off the internet for a while, now.

She also had to have known that she would never, ever face legal consequences for anything she did to Jack, which is why she can safely talk about "defending myself in a court of law". The trans and poly and BDSM aspects of the relationship look terrible to the average jury, and it's disgusting that she's actually using that bigotry to her personal advantage.

I was thinking this and about Jack while I was reading alexandrain's account. There's no way he can ever get Kynn brought to justice which I wish he could get and he clearly deserves.
