Heartbreak & Heroines
Kynn created a RPG called Heartbreak & Heroines, and used Kickstarter to get $3000 in funding in 48 hours. Over on LJ, Jack posted his response to his ex's success, in two minds because he's glad someone he knows did something cool, Kynn raped him. A couple days later, alexandraerin posts as well, expressing dismay at Kynn's behavior.

Jack posts Tweets from Kynn and later, emails,. At some point, the Kickstart for the RPG is canceled.

Some responses are laudable. Others, not so much.

ETA: Kynn tried to get a new name on RPG post-ban.

ETA2: Elf has a post about it.

ETA3: Kynn denies the rape happened.

No wonder she took it down. that's...oh god, that's horrific. The guilt-tripping in those IM logs is classic emotional manipulation and abuse.

But all she said was that she was so devastated by the idea that she had hurt Jack that she decided to commit suicide! And that's why now it's so important for her to share with everyone that he's just lying about being raped because he's spiteful and jealous. Because his feelings are so important to her the idea of hurting him makes her want to take her own life.

It must make sense in some language...

Yeah. I'd call pretty much half their exchange emotional abuse from Kynn's side. Kynn is acting so stereotypical for an abusive spouse in her own logs that I'd have a hard time taking it serious in fiction if I hadn't experienced similar behavior in real life.

The worst part is, if she thinks THAT somehow excuses her...what would she consider damning enough to hide?

The first logs were like a horrible flashback to a friend I had to sit down and have a really long talk about what emotional abuse was.

So if I'm reading this right, she was so horrified at the accusation of being a rapist that she threatened to kill herself, but Jack said she shouldn't kill herself so that means she didn't rape him.

I think I need a shower, now.

Basically, yes. This is where she's getting "He said I'm a good person!" Because after she threatened to kill herself, he said she was as good person.

Wow, no, that doesn't sound abusive in the least, I'm so glad we cleared that up!

I am really, really hoping that the support they have been getting (and apparently that has been coming across) is healing for him. I wish I could say I didn't know what being trapped in that kind of relationship felt like but instead reading those chat logs I was all: "...Mom, is that you?!"

IDEK. Poor Jack. I got into something similarly toxic when I was about his age and the only thing that ended it was me having a breakdown. When you're that age, I think, it feels like you can fix anything if you just TRY.

I have been back to this post several times in the last few days, and I *STILL* can't find words to express how creepy and gross that post was.
