Heartbreak & Heroines
Kynn created a RPG called Heartbreak & Heroines, and used Kickstarter to get $3000 in funding in 48 hours. Over on LJ, Jack posted his response to his ex's success, in two minds because he's glad someone he knows did something cool, Kynn raped him. A couple days later, alexandraerin posts as well, expressing dismay at Kynn's behavior.

Jack posts Tweets from Kynn and later, emails,. At some point, the Kickstart for the RPG is canceled.

Some responses are laudable. Others, not so much.

ETA: Kynn tried to get a new name on RPG post-ban.

ETA2: Elf has a post about it.

ETA3: Kynn denies the rape happened.

My mother used to tell me this. Well, without the Confucious part. When I got old enough to realize IT MADE NO FUCKING SENSE I asked her about it. And she said her mother used to tell it to her, so it must be okay!... And then she thought about it for a while, and realized it was misogynist crap. Only took a couple generations. Sigh.

My uncle once made a joke about the "coke bottle test". As in, if you keep moving a coke bottle around it's impossible to get a pencil into it. Therefore, rape is impossible. My gran verbally tore the living shit out of him.

My gran could totally kick Ravan's gran's ass.

I was going to post some things that you could do (or threaten to do) to the person holding the coke bottle to make them hold it still, but even with a male hypothetical subject, I realized it would probably be triggery as all fuck. Sorry.

The whole theory is patently ridiculous and thankfully rarely cited these days. It was an argument a lawyer made in a rape case in the 90s and a big deal at the time though; I remember it came up in my sex-ed class in grade 8.

My father sold us that one as an anecdote about some Austrian emperor. With a mother who complained that his soldiers had raped her daughter and he offered he would only believe her if she managed to get his sword into his scabbard while he moved the scabbard around.

Like that wouldn't be a "Emperor fails to prove point, wins Darwin Award" headline in the making.

"Like that wouldn't be a "Emperor fails to prove point, wins Darwin Award" headline in the making."

...which would prove the mother's point quite nicely because I bet if she pointed the sword at him, he'd stop moving around.

Along the lines of?:

*stabs with sword*
*takes scabbard*
*proves point*
