My guess with that horrorshow is that they're trying to grab readers coming from the Arkham games. Look at her design in the next one; the comic redesign contains every aspect of it besides the tattoos, leggings, and spiked wristbands you can't see in that picture, just twisted into something entirely terrible.

I could even buy her game-model second belt being the inspiration for the undies.
